As I mentioned before if one has 170units of 2019 Hyundai avante to choose from. Won’t having a colour choice help to manage the list better?
honestly why would someone respray a 2year old car unless really really need to. Won’t one try to find a color that you like before that.
don’t Understand why you guys are so resistant to it.

Chill leh. Nobody is resistant to it. Just wanna seek and understand the opinion of fellow car owners here if color search plays a part in people's decision-making.

Well, if there were several cars of the same model, condition and price to choose from, then yes:

- some colours are easier to maintain than others, e.g. silver

- some people are told by their fortune tellers to go for, or avoid certain colours

- certain colours are synonymous with the brand, e.g. red for Ferrari.

Much larger websites like Autotrader and CarMax have colour as a filter option, they obviously don’t think it’s irrelevant in the purchase consideration.

Thank you for your feedback! Just to clarify, just in case my previous post came across as dismissive, that clearly wasn't my intention. I think it's an interesting filter option but as with all implementations, it'll be good to gather more feedback and public opinion before we can suggest/recommend it to higher management.

This is interesting. Do people choose their car by color? Because after all you buy knowing that you can respray or wrap it to your choice of color anyway. For myself personally, the search filter that matters 1 Price range 2 Depreciation 3 Vehicle Type (prefer hatch). After that, I'll browse through the search results and shortlist those that fit my budget. Other than obviously the price, first impressions - I pay special attention to the exterior condition of the car and the cleanliness of the interior. If the car is full of dings and dents, I take it that it's reflective of how the owner treats his car. If the interior is dirty and messy, high chance I won't even bother viewing as he or she probably has a habit of eating in the car. That's something I cannot accept even though I can and will send the car to fumigation after purchasing.

So, is car color important to you when looking for a car on our used car pages? Super curious. Probably maybe... if it's a high-end model but if it's your bread and butter Altis, Civic, Swift, etc?

one of the reasons i choose the swift sport is because of the colour, yellow. lol. But not all yellow are the same, the one on the Fit looks ugly and dull. Colour aside, it depends on the hue and tone. But if a person already fixate on buying a certain model with a preferred colour, a filter will be nice.

Maybe cause some people like TS really dislike wrapping or spraying in SG lor... If can save that $2-3k and 3 day downtime why not right?

Search based on difference between price and dereg value would be very useful for dealers like me.

I always buy the cars with the lowest price and highest dereg value.

I like people that buy cars based on colour.

I only want a white car.

All I got is a Rolls Royce.

I will take. Full cash.

That's my kind of customer.

One MCF member was selling his hyper car.

One man said the price was ok and went for a test drive.

After his vigorous testing of the hyper car the MCF member asked if he was going to take it and the man said - I don't like the colour.

wondering why not to have the car colour as one of the search options in sgcarmart.

makes it easier if one is looking for particular colours. the log card already has the car colour input.

after 3 long years... someone has listened.
