I don't get it  - Is MAS imposing a fine on DBS or forcing the bank to up its $ to address the risk which has been exposed in Nov outages ?  What scares me now is DBS admit its multi-days disruption to DBS digital banking service last Nov is due to  "problem with its access control servers"  - Who manage those control servers and are those servers running on Cloud ?

I remember DBS says it had move some of its servers to Cloud services run by US-based coy from Microsoft, Amazon to Equinix...https://www.dbs.com/newsroom/First_bank_in_Singapore_to_launch_new_cloud_based_data_centre

I am curious how exposed our finance digital services are now.  😜

MAS noted deficiencies in the bank’s management of the incident and recovery procedures to restore its digital banking services to a normal state, resulting in the prolonged disruption

No fine or no forcing lah.

MAS is just asking the bank to have a "backup server and backup money". And MAS wont review all these backup.

When the posb/dbs main server is down they can easily switch to their backup server and money to serve their customers as usual.
