pointless.

I'm using 4k OLED but my netflix is HD quality only and shared. Cheapo [laugh]

Don't like that say. I am watching netflix on a 32" 1080p tv for the longest time when I have UHD option. 🤣

Only until I bought my monitor and i realised I am missing out so much things in life. 🤣

I had same experience with HDMI cable some years ago. Bought a cheaper one from mom-pop shop but it did not work. Thought it was either my SB or TV problem. Then bought a more expensive one from Challenger and it works.

It's either I am damn suay got a faulty one first time or most of these cheaper cables don't work. Up till now, I still don't know why.

could be just the compatibility.

I sorta prefer 1080p actually. Cos it reminds me of movies i used to watch in theaters. All my favorite classic movies certainly didn't have 4K.

When I bought that cable 10 years ago, there was not so much online shopping with reviews. 😂 And those Chinese cables sure were not rated, or at least not printed on the box. But it's good these cables are lasting. The slightly more expensive one is still working fine now so I guess it's still a good buy.

Nothing wrong. But that time and age got lot of premium cable nonsense.

when your gadget get more high tech, you will find out more along the way. now the in-thing is HDMI 2.1 can support up to 8K and 120hz refresh rate!

Soundbar with TV no need transmit picture, so use HDMI ARC or Optical Cable not much diff.. just use whichever cable that is available.

For my old Samsung SB, it acts as the medium through which the picture go through, ie, cable TV box is connected to SB and not the TV. If so, will there be a difference between HDMI and Optical cable?

If picture signal go thru Soundbar then u need HDMI.. optical cable is used for the audio.

With HDMI ARC, most TV allow u to control the volume via their TV remote. So u just need one remote.

So practically speaking, that's a small but important point!

I guess it does. Never really notice such things. Haha look like a normal 1080p image to me.

As in don't have that ultra sharp/realistic look which frankly i prefer. Cos it's more cinematic to me.

@Lala81 hey we have the same soundbar. 😀👍

haha swayed by you guys' recommendations!

Though the endorsements of yamaha were also convincing.
But creative pricing is too good.

The surround effect on the soundbar doesn't give me "surround" but it it does make the soundstage wider i feel.

Thats why having content is the most important, without which, a good tv is no use.  There are many nice tv shows and movies that can get from internet and watch with family, you just have to find it.

@Lala81 It is good enough for the money, just dont expect too much.  Btw, it can connect via blutooth, so you can play loud music when doing housework, to lighten up the mood.  While watching tv, i mostly use the dialogue mode.

Lol this is actually in my MBR. my outside TV is only used to watch kiddy programmes and switched on once in a while.
No need sound bar. Haha it doesn't even have digital tv anymore cos i gave the tv box to my mum after her's spoilt (also bought by me).

Besides Bluetooth, can also plug in USB thumbdrive with MP3 to play songs..
