Try moving the bar right up to the edge and of the console for better sound

I have the Sonos Beam Gen 1. Looking at the specs for Gen 2, I feel it is still ok to get the Gen 1 given the huge price difference and not much upgrade on the Gen 2.

Basically, watching movies with any SB, the sound is "okay". The gap between 7.1 or 9.1/9.2 type of setup and SB is still vast. When producing sound from single point source, they try to emulate surround sound by bouncing it off surfaces. If the room or positioning of the SB is not optimum, still can get the perception the sound is not really balance. So room is quite important.

Functionality wise, to me the most important is HDMI Arc to let it connect to and play from a few sources. The absence/lack of Bluetooth connectivity - this will be the reason I will not get another Sonos for now. Looking at the Naim Mu-so 2 when it gets cheaper in the future (Gen 1 no HDMI Arc).

im putting $1/month into my Naim Mu-so fund too :D

Good idea

they have to add new features to just the cost.. but can we hear these effects?

Not reliable? Overpriced? 🤔

something along the line. Can go read up online why. But i feel is subjective, esp for sound quality. Some people loved it, some people hate it.

I had a couple of instances where the shop owners told me to stay away from Bose in general maybe except headphones.

I first heard the Bose acoustimass about 30years ago at atlas Hifi in plaza sing. They did lots of demos then. Was initially impressed.  But the longer I heard, could always tell the disjointedness of the sound with the lack of mids. Never believed in Bose ever since. 😄

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to report that BabyBlade did not disappoint. Thank you sgCarMart for sponsoring half of my Beam!

Take a snapshot of it then play it back on the ever growing TV size 😁
