I need a tv and still cannot decide the Sony 4K UHD or LG oled, maybe I also wait till December [laugh]

I have 2017 Sony LED TV.

Comparing it against LG Nanocell (LED TV), LG beats Sony hands down.

I use both to watch YouTube for comparison

actually i have a serious question. why sound bar so expensive?

i know i have this THX 5.1 sound A/V amp.. but this sound bar doesnt give the all round sound experience right?

i dont have a sound bar as i dont find i need it. but should i add one?

Soundbar is just sleaker in design with less clutter, less techie and more "average consumer" friendly.

As to why they are expensive is because they have to pack alot of things within the smaller footprint. Many with wireless, smart features and what-not.

i dont think you should add a SB to your 5.1. You can add one and use independently. There are some soundbars with rear speakers to provide that surround sound effect.

There is more customization for your 5.1 setup but a soundbar is more like P&P.

A few have answered, but i wanna extra spray a bit more anyway lol

A soundbar works alone to recreate surround sound or stereo sound, depending on setting and model. Its not meant to be added to any system. Its meant for those with COs that absolutely forbid you spending thousands and running meters of cables in the house, and putting all sorts of speakers around the TV.

They have omni-directional speakers that, with an in built setup routine, can imitate a 5.1 or 7.1 system to a varying degrees.

Yep

for a full enveloping experience with 3D sound you’ll be looking at around 9 to 11 channels, cables galore and probably twin subwoofers

10-20k minimum just for the sound …
