Beanoyip Turbocharged November 24, 2021 Share November 24, 2021 (edited) Yup beam is the cheaper alternative, unless you really want the full capabilities then go for Sonos Arc + woofer. https://www.whathifi.com/au/advice/sonos-beam-vs-playbar-vs-playbase-which-is-best Edited November 24, 2021 by Beanoyip

Need to consider if the wired sub will be messy in your environment. Hmm, looks good. My old Acoustic Energy 2.1 (AE) is still working for my PC and this looks like a good alternative (if AE conks out).

This Gen 2 is at least $100 more expensive than previous version. If you don't need Dolby Atmos, can get the earlier version.

If I'm getting a SONOS then I won't be getting it now. Out of my budget. Maybe I'll get a budget Xiaomi soundbar for the living room then I'll change my room one in time to come. Or one of those JBL ones which I can use my Taka vouchers to purchase.

I googled and retail shops like Courts, Harvey Norman selling it? Maybe it'll be a good idea to head down and test it out then buy online lol. The bad thing is it is difficult to compare the 2 to 3 brands you have narrowed down to in the same shop. I cavaet that Beam does not give you the best sound. Its advantages are seamless pairing (with other SONOS pdts), simple set up and a relatively small footprint.

If got budget, can go for 300/700 series, better features with built-in Spotify and Tune-in, can play directly from mobile App. The latest is Series 900, is Atmos compatible. They do have demo for both Sonos and Bose. Go compare it for your self. Some may have JBL too. ↡ Advertisement
