At least it did not drag too long, and hopefully not much suffering during that period.

Indeed, just like it was mentioned: "He will be missed but let's celebrate his freedom from pain and suffering and his reunion with The One above.''

Sad to hear that he had passed on. It must be tough for the family to lose such a pillar of strength..

After the Olympic win, I read how quietly supportive he was, how he and his wife had sold off the house to raise his son up that podium. Unlike the many ministers who were rushing to steal a piece of limelight, he was the silent supporter moving about press interviews with his son and beaming in pride.

He may be gone but his demeanour as a loving father will be remembered. He also remains a role model to many of us around. May he rest in peace.

Remembered reading something about the family spend around $1 million (majority their own money) to help Schooling achieve the Olympic gold. How many parents in their situation would be willing to make such sacrifice. Really support the son all the way!!

Condolences to the Schooling family.🙏

RIP

Without his love and support for his son, we will not get our first Olympic Gold medal .

True! Who would have sold his house and cashed out the endowments for the son to pursue swimming?

RIP,  Mr Colin Schooling.
