So shall we guess when GST will be up?

My guess is 1 April 2022

This is because she doesn't know the impact of GST increase. It is a chain reaction that not only when you pay for 1 single item. 10% of $1 is only 10 cents but every other purchases or expenditures are linked.

i think you mean chain rxn like a vicious chain. an importer has to charge gst to distributor, and distributor got to multiply gst again to sell to factory. and factory multiply gst again to sell to retailer. and retailer multiply gst to sell to consumer. already change hands 4 times and gst is raised to power 4.

Yes, i can understand why taxes need to go up but I don't agree we should use the regressive GST but that is another topic for another day.

I am just asking why now when inflation is accelerating around the world and this time, it is hitting low and middle income groups more as proportion of income spent on utilities, food, etc are higher than the high income earners.

Surely they know hiking GST will trigger another round of inflation, it is not rocket science.

I am just questioning the timing. Why cannot delay? We didn't blink when Heng threw $100-200b in the last 2 years at Covid, we are now talking about circa $3b of revenue.  After adding land sales (mind you, these are 9 leasehold lands, it is a long term rental paid upfront), it is not a deficit lah.

Cannot delay liao. Now best time to dish out the pain. Why? The longer they delay the closer it'll be to the next GE. Peasants need some time to forget the pain from all the ass screwing. Please think like a politician.
