While I welcome the idea of having this powerbank in an EV, the additional fire risk has to be taken into consideration too, for those interested. ZipCharge Go Portable Electric Vehicle Charge Introduced at COP26 A UK startup called ZipCharge introduced its portable electric vehicle charger called the Go at COP26. The Go is a compact, with size and shape of an average-sized carry-on suitcase, and weighs about 23 Kg. It has a 4 kWh (net capacity) battery and can charge an EV at 7.2 kW. However, larger versions will also be introduced, offering up to 8 kWh of net capacity. In a little more than 30 minutes, the 4 kWh version can add approximately 19 to 32 Km of range, depending on how efficient the EV is. The larger 8 kWh unit needs about an hour to fully discharge and will add roughly 40 to 64 Km of driving range. The ZipCharge Go is targeted for consumer use and will be available for purchase (pricing hasn't been announced) as well as leased, with a starting lease price of £49 (S$90) per month. ZipCharge plans to begin customer deliveries in Q4 2022. Basic software functionality will be available to everyone so they can plan and schedule charging, however, enhanced AI software functionality and insurance will be offered on subscription for a small monthly fee which, on average, will save the user £15-20 (S$28 - S$37) per month. ↡ Advertisement 12 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Or directly connected in the boot via a fixed connection that is lockable? So that it wont shift around in the boot while the EV is in motion. You dont have to wait for 30mins for it to charge. Whatever spent power bank can do a one for one exchange with a charged one. Or can be pre charged at home. The idea isnt new as EV motorbikes are doing this. Fitvip Supersonic November 4, 2021 Share November 4, 2021 I don' know how safe can it be to charge the EV with power banks while on the move. Imo, the one-for-one exchange would be a better option. It takes just a few minutes to exchange the flat battery for a fully charged one. The power bank would be useful in case of emergency like when the battery goes flat and the next charging point (battery exchange station) is far away. Some inventors and engineers are like that, very roundabout way to do things. Why not just buy and put a portable diesel generator in the trunk? Run out of electron juice? The big one is the normal one to use, and recharge when near empty. then the small one is for back-up if/when needed, with some switch to select using it when the big one is flat. yes, it is possible that with this, then drivers will get false sense of security and tend to want to max out the small one too, but it should be useful to offer back-up to those really suay suay never charge enough on a drive (like kanna stuck in bad traffic jams...). 1 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yet, with the supposedly high tech EVs, we are looking at the possibilities of such absurdity again 😁 The solution to end range anxiety is the development of battery tech, and slowly and surely the next gen of batteries coming will have substantially more range, making range anxiety all but a distant memory. 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Stupid isnt it. no matter what tech, you cant create energy, it can only be transferred. maybe the only way is pocket nuclear.
