COE is cyclical. 2008 then say once in a lifetime (also not quite true, my lifetime seen other drops). All of 2019 actually COE was as cheap or cheaper than 2020. 

I will agree it's something like once in a lifetime although maybe sounds a bit exaggerated but not too far off. Depending on which part of the CB you buy and how much you paid for. Not really saying the deal was good becos the COE was all time low as it's definitely not. But of paying maybe only $20K for COE and getting one that's $40K in the end. And maybe paying less than the basic cost of the car.  

Also take it with a pinch of salt when people say once in a lifetime. How many times we hear people use the word never so loosely? Never means never ever and not even once but so many people use never so loosely.

Last bidding I thought it will go up quite a lot. But in the end it was so anti-climax.

other than the freak $1 or $50 COE, the COE @$3k+ in 2009 was the lowest level I ever know

i remember everything were in turmoil, crashed stock markets, retrenchment, panic and bad news everyday

@wlalala I think today is moderately down. Was in showroom pick up a complimentary gift on Monday and the salesman chatted with me very bad visitor traffic into the showroom....
