I feel commando should not feel their honour being challenged. SRYand most of us have the utmost respect the training they have gone thru and passing out from there.  Likewise when judging a school, we should look the median of the numbers of students that pass with A and above instead of looking at one or two outliers who top the country. I am sure commandos has the highest concentration of runners who can do 8 min plus or even sub 8 in any organisation.

Only insecure people feel the need to put down other’s achievements by bringing in commandos PTIs ex school friends etc. I think Rui Yong is fantastic. I wish I can run even a distant 9 mins and I know I can’t when I was his age. I just wasn’t built that way nor was I ever good in running.

SRY does nothing everyday except to train for running. That's his job.

It takes tremendous amount of discipline to maintain that high standard of training regime. This also includes diet which is sometimes difficult to maintain discipline in the context of living in Singapore.

He just did what an average person would do. Do something well and post it on social media. Is he showy? I don't think so. Everybody does that these days.

No doubt he has a controversial character. I think people don't like this part of him and started all the talk about commandos doing better than him. Sure, there will be ppl who can match his timing. But unless one can put down a name, witness it or know another person in real life who could, then otherwise I think its just to bring SRY down.

These people just don't realise that their action undermines the respect for commandos. Commandos aren't just runners. Keeping fit is just one very small aspect of what is needed to be a commandos.

To me, this sry either lack eq or think that at his so called invincible level no need to exercise eq, which to me speak alot abt his character.

Of course if he's doing this to promote Pocari, then this also speak alot abt his character too.. haha.

in the SAFSA virtual challenge, commando formation has the best overall result.

I am sure this is the case for commando having the highest number of runners with good results. But this Ethan Yan's results in SAFSA 2.4km challenge has shown why virtual race is bad way to showcase racing performance.. How a bad GPS signal can alleviate one to become the fastest runner in singapore.

Oh yah 9-10 Oct.  You know the time of the race?  [laugh][laugh][laugh]

I think it will be whole day, runners race base on their time slots.

Must run below 69secs per 400m for 6 rounds.

For reference world record sprinter need 43sec for 400m

Yes not many in SG can accomplish this type of speed for 2.4.

Why many will boast of incredible speed? Maybe because those who do 2.4 in a camp which is not using a standard 400m track and following a route around the buildings are probably running slightly shorter distance.

At my age, can complete 2.4 km at 16 mins or just complete it, I si bei happy liao. Now KTV becomes as extinct as dinosaurs, go run, healthier.
