@Ody_2004 eh ok la. Like u said, it depends on each individual on how u drive. For me not really hard braking, if u have been using the correct technique, can control one. I would think benefit is in the event when u need hard braking, u just have to straighten and lock your knee. Accidents might happen in split seconds. Having to decide at that point of time to lift up your heel and do hard braking might make a difference. I more kiasu, so do it right always.

@Jamesc no benefit. I'm taught this way and I am using it. I also haven't worn out any mats be it 3M, 3A, 3D, rubber etc. 😁

Haha oh I thought it was a safety thing.

Like maybe can stop the car faster in an accident or something like that.

I was taught never to cross my arms when turning the steering wheel.

I also don't know if got added safety benefit or not but I don't cross my arms.

I always brake with my right foot even when driving auto car

but some people they use their left foot to brake auto car.

Some racing drivers also brake with left foot because they come out of a corner faster.

@Jamesc this one I'm not sure. But I heard from friend who went for racing drives organised by Audi, BMW etc, said if you cross your arms, and if you are in a corner, you might lock your own arms and cannot maneuver properly when you need a quick reaction ba.

Nonetheless, everyone has their own driving habits. As long as can operate your vehicle safely, who is going to care lol. Stay safe everyone. Cheers.

No wonder BMW drivers cannot signal going into a corner.

Their arms got locked.

Now it make sense!

Now it also make sense why I only drive with one hand.

No its not because the other hand must rub wifey knee

its because drive one arm can never lock in a corner

and I can always signal!

Neutral Newbie

Recently bought Audi Q3 from dealer , but it didn’t  come with the removable mats .. is this quite normal to not provide removable mats when buying a new car or just with Audi ?

Usually car dealer will give your the noodle car mat rather than removable mat. Cause it is an add on plus more expensive. but some cars do comes with removable mat alrd.

You can try 3A car mat if you don't wanna dirty your car! Congrats on your new ride.

Shit! Guess I'm the only one having such problem... I have replace the mat many many times with the one sold at SPC station (not the rubber type).

The 3M type also let my heel make a big lubang after a few months... the original floor carpet which have a rubber padding at that area also now almost koyak...

Usually I wear sports shoe to drive, cos I don't like wearing slippers... and I think the heel of these shoe are too hard 😞

I think i need an aluminium padding
