I am sure there is a typo here.

It should be practice the breathing exercises after you wake up!

I am not sure how people can practice the breathing exercises before they wake up!

In their dreams?

:D

Quote

Find a quiet time during the day, such as before you wake up or right before you go to sleep, and practise this for five minutes every day. You’ll find that it gets easier the more you try.

Mindfulness is a Buddhist technique and some people try to sell

it without the Buddhism.

Mindfulness as a secular practice but it cannot be done.

It has to be combined with Buddhist instruction of kindness.

So its combining mindfulness with kindness or kindfulness

and then people will get the full benefits.

Basically, stop worrying about things we can't control and celebrate everything that goes in our favour. After a while we'd realize that many of our fears and worries never materialize, or not as bad as it seemed earlier.

Have to learn to quieten down what is called the "monkey mind" [laugh]

Let me add in one that helps me a lot...

Practice Gratitude.

People yearn too much on things they do not have, yet are not thankful enough for things they already have.

A thankful mindset attracts even better things/opportunity to our life because the mind doesn't think about scarcity.  A scarcity mind will only attract more scarcity, leading to a vicious cycle of more wants and hence more stress.

Mindfulness is important, but gratitude to people and things we already owned will bring our mental being to the next level.

People have mental problems because they have a win or lose mentality.

I cut in I win, you let me cut in you lose.

:D

So many people think like this how NOT to have mental problems?

I yearn for good grades when I was in school.

To make my parents happy.

But it was not to be.

I keep getting 51%. Just pass.

I was the happiest kid in class.

The smart kid was crying when he only got 99%

because of one silly mistake!

I happy no mental problems the other kids crying uncontrollably.

What's wrong with yearning for things people don't have?

Makes them work harder!

:D

Nothing wrong to have desires  la....

But the point is to be constantly thankful to things we already have by thinking/practicing gratitude.

No one shows more gratitude for what I have than me!

I have a MIL and every day without fail I will talk about her.

So not to have mental problems must practice mindfulness, show gratitude

and also must share our good things with other people.

Sharing is caring and anyone no MIL, I can share with you!

So to have good mental health

must have mindfulness, gratitude, sharing and also put other people first.

Learn to give way and not cut queue and let other people come out of the lift and train first

and be polite and kind and caring and nice and good!

This is how to have good mental health.

If never do all these things will have bad mental health.

So that's why so many people have mental problems.

But its not mental problems they have.

The problem is them!
