But seriously, i hope to get the car before 2025.

Either Mokka or Arona.  Unless i win the lottery or get 210 month bonus then i go for BMW. Or COE becomes $2

Why?

Usually i change cars before 5 years cos i realize a lot of maintenance issues after 5 years.

Of cos, this was my experience with hyundai.  Honda, not so much yet.

So yes, i am thinking before 2025.  But thinking la.  Anything can happen.  But that's the tentative plan.

So you want to change car before maintenance issues surface. 😅 No wonder many people need to change car every 4-5 years, the best. 😂

For Honda city, i test drove the car in Aug 2018.  Bought the car in Nov 2020.  So yea, roughly this schedule

I was looking at the mokka today.  Salesman talked dragon and Phoenix.

Thought of getting the mokka but after reading the feedback here....

New Mokka?

Get the Peugeot 2008. Same car but better :D

If the coe not so crazy high, i think many people also want to change car every 5 year or so. But dont know if the coe will come down to around 50k plus in the next 2 years.

To me, it is more of backside itchy.  Less itchy than radx.

Honda should be good for whole 10 years.

backside itchy is one thing, key is to be able to tahan the pain, or not even feeling the pain, that is ultimate.

You might be right.  Cos now i don't travel much. So the car is the only thing i can splurge on.  Other than the iPhone.  Which i will likely get before 2024.

Why set this kind of goal when you cannot tell what is going to happen in the future? Is it now becos got dual income, can set your eyes on a better car?

You cannot be impulsive and then immediately go buy a car.

LoL, car maintenance is still cheaper than buying new car. My suggestion is wait until nearing 2025 first. Then you talk.

Many Super Well Doing MyCarForum Members changed Cars before the 1st Inspection, their Reason, don't like to queue up & wait for their Cars being Inspected.

Honda city will be reliable. Opel and arona, one french and one vw, for sure to have much more problems.

(edited)

I'm on my second Opel since 2016.

Hardly any issues and the drive is great.

Recent Opels since the PSA Groupe takeover, are all using the 4 time Engine of the Year 1.2L Peugeot Puretech engine and Aisin EAT8 gearbox. Very reliable bulletproof gearbox brand.

The Puretech 1.2L has 128bhp almost maxing out Cat A with 230nm torque. Way more enjoyable than a 1.5L/1.6L NA engine.

Frankly I also heard jap cars have their fair share of quality problems.

City included.

All conti have consistently ranked lower than Japanese in JD power or whatever surveys. Only a minority continue to believe that conti still more reliable. One can never beat statistics  😂
