Also less noise complains from residents. Not sure when this court was constructed.... But sure look flimsy... I remember all old courts has 4 poles to hold each board. Can squeeze a ball in between. Post probably "upgraded" A quick google search will show that this particular court's post is DISTINCTLY different from many courts in SG.

They just drew up what is theoretically adequate (accordingly to their own assumptions) but practically and functionally lacking. Any type of sheltered walkway will not satisfy u. A tunnel will suit u best.
Karoon Turbocharged July 27, 2021 Share July 27, 2021 My time growing up, no pull up bars in estates, closest thing is basketball posts. Always reliable. There would also be the pai kias who would climb to the top and sit and smoke there like on a throne. Such were their strength. 1

Gnahp Turbocharged July 27, 2021 Share July 27, 2021 @bsswan I thought it is a clean break when I first saw this pic but the edge of the metal is rusted, not a fresh 'wound' from yesterday

Fcw75 Hypersonic July 27, 2021 Share July 27, 2021 It was reported that the courts were renovated in April 2020, including the frame. Anyway, RIP. 1
Tedlhw 5th Gear July 27, 2021 Share July 27, 2021 actually i ever heard of any incident near my old house, when i was a boy. apparently a neighbours child lost a finger cos the finger got caught in something in the rim when he was trying to slam dunk. The finger got pulled cleaned off . I have no such danger because there was no chance of me touching the rim..

BanCoe Hypersonic July 27, 2021 Share July 27, 2021 then they will say metal fatigue , how??? as the structures do take quite a beating as I've seen people even kicking the poles " like just for fun" as its just only 2 points anchored .... now is a design flaw or misadventure ??? The frame is filled with concrete inside the how, but I don't see any more cement spring the outer surface....... If I'm seeing it correctly.

We were considered good if we can touch the net. Only slam dunk when we go back primary school "visiting teachers". I do not play basketball in secondary school, I played football and already touching the rim and hanging from it in school whenever we played football in the basketball courts. The post of the basketball board is very good as goal posts for football. Anyway, my ex-secondary school has 4 basketball courts so only two courts were used by guys who played basketball. I was never able to slam dunk cos need to jump higher than the rim to put the ball in. ↡ Advertisement
