We didn't score a goal from open play in the 3 finals.

It is  still a great season but a very bizarre one.

In past seasons, Pool had issue with smaller teams but they always plundered the big teams.

This season, Pool could grind out results with most of the smaller teams, but they could not get results with the big teams except for the FA semi with City. The two cups were won with some luck over Chelsea,  but luck has probably ran out in this CL final.

Also, Pool probably used up all luck against Ancelotti in 2005 because Pool always had difficulty beating his teams after that, including well, Everton....🙄

Finals should never be exciting.

I would have preferred if our 2 full backs stayed home and 0-0 after extra time and we go to pens.

Carlo is a tactical genius.

Carlo has always been the real quiet hero and his amazing feats (UCL and league champions and in different teams and leagues) not easy to replicate.

As mentioned by many, Pool just unlucky on the day. Thats football.

He wins wherever he goes and he can even make Calvert Lewin score goals.

It would be easier for Fabinho to stay deeper... :D Thiago was not very mobile.. not 100% for sure and just hover around the middle of the pitch... Hendo was busy covering RB and RW... in the end our high press not effective... we were just not compact enough when we do not have the ball

Our midfield need to replace back players like Gini and Shaq....can score and can cross. Thiago is probably for that purpose but he is not that mobile as he was mostly in the middle.

You are right that he is a quiet hero.  He even wrote a book called Quiet Leadership.  No kidding.  I have that book and it was a great book that offers a different perspective of leadership.

Ran out of luck bro. I mean look at this:

Aston Villa conceding 3 goals in 6 mins.
This RM team faced 20+ shots and not conceding even one.

Football gods gave Pool two cups without scoring, can't possibly give another two.... 😁

Think we need a couple of midfielders preferably someone who can play in both no. 6 and 8. If not we will see Firminho and Matip playing in midfield soon lol

Various news outlet reporting that Mane is going to inform the club he wants to leave.

You are right.

Gini is priceless to keep running forward to support the attack and running back to cover for Robbo.

Priceless but Pool don't think he is worth 200,000.

Carlo wrote playing Pool is so much easier than playing PSG, Chelsea and Man City.

This is absolutely true.

Anyway.... Winning a double is not the worst thing to happen.

Lets look forward to next season! We go again!

Lets start by selling Mane if he doesnt want to be around. He has served the team well. We shld wish him well.

Two trophies in normal circumstances we would be overjoyed and celebrated. However from Quadruple to triple. Triple to double. A sense of underachievement is definitely felt by many fans.

Quadruple wasn't in our hand. Triple was in our hand. We bottled it. We lost to a better team on the night.
