Nowadays, I notice the most molded cars are used as PHV.

I wonder are these cars already molded heavily by previous owner and sold as it is, thereafter being used as PHV. Or current owner used it primarily as PHV and mod it themselves.

Some of these cars are acquired under the Lease-to-Own scheme so the hirers can treat it like it's their own cars. Most of them have no restrictions like changing rims, installing auto-tailgate, adding body kits etc.

This was an interesting story and very ironic as well

I bought a 2nd hand Mazda 6 and was scheduled to collect the car at the dealer. I stay at Bukit Batok and the dealer is located at Tampines North Drive 1 (T-Space). I booked a JustGrab to collect a car and was surprised that I got myself an S-Class.

Yes you didn't see wrongly, it was a mercedes-benz S-Class. I remembered paying $23 for my ride. I wanted to ask the driver why would be use an S-class for Justgrab when the petrol is totally not worth it. However, he was on the phone for the whole journey and I couldn't ask him the question.

This was the most memorable ride as it was super ironic taking an S-Class to collect my 2nd hand Mazda 6 (I also forgotten my favourite umbrella in the car). *You should have seen the face of the dealer when I exited the car* 🤣

This is very possible. There are only 2 choices.

1. In between 2 limousine bookings, set destination to somewhere near next limousine job. No need to drive empty car and cover some petrol.

2. Sit at a coffee shop and waste that time away until its time to head for the next limousine job.

Most people will choose #2 as you can see frequently at Liang Seah Street or Killiney Road. No lack of limousines idling away there. But your driver obviously chose the more productive #1.

Limousines at Killiney road? I thought that street road side parking is already impossible with all the food crowd there. How come got limousines idling there?

No lack of illegal parking on double-yellow lines or the smaller lanes around. Their fave hangout at the corner coffeeshop. Sometimes I will call in the parking warden because even if they're in the lots, chances are they're not paying. And a few parking lots get hogged up that way.

A lot of things don't make sense when we use rational thinking.

But when YOLO/YODO thinking.....many things just fall in place.

lol fake one la.. two door two seater cannot be registered as PHV. Can check on LTA website to confirm too. Not sure if sticking such fake decal is against the law too, since if it looks so close to real, anyone can buy off and fake PHV..

You seriously need to have a sick sense of humour to want to do this to your own car...

PHV sticker lao kui meh. Can drive own favourite car and earning a honest living at the same time. Kills 2 birds with a stone. I'm not a PHV driver anyway, but I find it a decent living.

I don't think there's anything disgraceful about being a PHV driver, but the lifestyle that the PHV companies sell to the common man, like you say - to let the common man "earn and drive your favourite car" is a pipe dream.

Car ownership is one thing; overleveraging your finances to attain that "dream" is another thing altogether.

It's quite apparent that those who drive luxury/performance cars with the PHV label fall *mostly* into the latter category... (and I'm not referring to those hotel/airport luxury limos)

People who overleverage their finances just to own their "favourite" car - that's the disgraceful thing. It has a knock-on effect on many other things in society, including but not limited to:

- COE prices

- Used car market

Just my honest opinion.
