Yokohama Advan Apex V601

Anyone currently driving with these set of tyres?

I think this belongs to the UHP segment, so its competitors include Goodyear's F1A5, Michelin's PS4, Bridgestone's Potenza RE004 etc. The first two are essentially the best in this segment, so not sure if the Apex V601 can compete against them?

Not quite have Confident on Yokohama Tyres,i changed my Bridgestone T001 to Yokohama RV2,19'',just a few Kms,i regreted..

For me Yokohama is off my list. Wet performance CMI. The drop in wet performance from its dry is horrible vs other brands.

used advan db.. not bad. but can't compare to PS4. now using PS4- sporty but little noisy

If I were to get Yokohama tyres, I will get the Advan series. I think they throw more R&D for Advan series. And they have their halo product there also. The Advan AD08R. Like when I get bridgestone, I will use Potenza.

It's been awhile since I am using Yokohama. The last time is when I am still driving my father van and I use the deliverystar 818. Those who are driving a van, no need to think. This is by far the best van tyres liao. haha.

Base on your list, I will strongly recommend either Bridgestone RE004 or Goodyear F1A5. You see which one the price better then get it or. Both are very good tyres for Singapore roads.

Try S drive. I have been using this for a long time. Good grip in wet and dry. Only a bit noisy.

Using the v701 now. Very good. Quiet and stable. Previous tyre PS4. 

So I thk this v601 would prob b better.

I'm using Advan Flevia V701 too.

Not the quietest, and grip and handling all ok. I find it's comparable to PS3.

Want to try the AD08R next.

My past experience with yoko was quite good. 

 

BS to me is okay but kind of overhyped. And so it's their pricing.

I am currently running F1A5s, almost 8k mileage with them. Made an informed decision after reading the F1A5 thread here and other online tyre reviews. I was initially looking at Advan dB, but it's not available at my tyre size (225/45/r19).

It's going to be quite some time before my tyres wear out so I hope by starting this thread, there will be sufficient feedback by then for another decision-making.

I shortlisted RE004 to be the next set of tyres to run with, but if the Apex V601 is reviewed positively, I can consider either based on price.

Where’s ur f1a5 made?

i used f1a2 Germany (40k) and then f1a3 Slovenia (10km) I thk. My feedback is the a2 Germany is distinctly for me better than the a3 Slovenia.

Mine is from Germany, same as the forumers at the F1A5 thread.

@sinistral why don't you want the F1A5 again? Curious. 
I have a set of fresh F1A5 tyres on a first-gen cerato forte SX I bought used - made in Germany. The rest of the car is stock. 
I'm finding the tyre grip better than the chassis, meaning maximum cornering grip is limited by the risk of undulations setting up oscillations (swaying motion) rather than outright tyre grip. The only time i've had the traction control intervene is when I was entering an underground carpark on a rainy day and the tyres slipped over the wet drain grating. It's otherwise decent grip in dry/wet conditions.

Life's too short to keep using the same tyres. I would want to try something different, but it's going to take some time before my tyres start to wear out.

Nothing wrong with the F1A5s though, it's indeed a brilliant set of tyres.

Just passed 10k, haven't thought of changing tyres yet since the thread level looks ok - can't put that much load on the tyres with my kia cerato after all.

@kobayashiGT AD08R no longer in the top seat with A052 out trying to compete in the 200TW level. With RE71RS, Z3, RT660, RS-4 out in the market (although not all are available in SG), there are still many options.

Like, for Bridgestone, they don't bring in RE71RS in sizes smaller than 17". Stamford doesn't bring in the RT660. A052 also limited in sizes and quantities and need to indent - so we are left with Z3 and maybe RS-4 that are slightly more accessible via the local tyre shops. BF Goodrich Rival S 1.5, I think even harder. 

Perhaps the tyre distributors here think Singapore can only drive 90km/h max, don't need so good tyres lah. Some people who swear by PS4 also drive at 60km/h in Lane 2...(divide that by 2 if raining 😆).

Look at it from the point of the importer. now cannot go track in malaysia, the usage levels are much much lower. as these rubbers are more sensitive to storage and age, doesn't make sense to bring in now.

Understand your point - I also find them a bit overkill for daily driving. But to a car enthusiast, the feeling of using street legal sticky tyres carving through LCK Lane 4 or highway slip-roads cannot be described with words. If there are demand, perhaps the distributor should consider taking direct orders with deposit. When I enquired, they did not propose this except for YHI. 

I also don't understand why Gucci, Bottega and VL handbags are flying off the shelves even though there aren't many parties to attend.
