There is no difference in the lock nut for sink tap and toilet bowl (water inlet to the flush tank). I believe the pipe diameter is 20mm. There are two different types: hexagon and 4 spikes. The tool can handle both in most of the cases.

This tool is not suitable for the bigger lock nut if you use those water tap with two water inlets.

oic you are referring to the inlet into the tank....that one can use bigger spanner with adjustable head to remove if got space for handle to turn.  if no space then that tool helps same for sink tap inlet.

i was referring to the lock nut that holds flushing system in place at the outlet....that one is bigger and needs another tool

😬😅

Just kept clearing until it’s sold, cheaper. 😁

One time investment of $20.

Of course I know and had googled for plumbing service. Would like to engage one that someone in here couch for and had engaged the service before tats all.

If the plumber's charges is reasonable and does a good job, that extra bit in  transportation cost is no issue.

But you are right, what for ask in here, just google. Like for anything regarding cars. Or even ask your local AD instead.

I actually read this thread like one week back looking for a plumber recommendation… my toilet shower drainage over the years and has always choke. Called someone a few months back and he charged us $450 to clear it…. It choked again. My wife called back the same person last week and he also charged us $450 again…. he say this time confirm will not choke. He removed a huge piece of gunny sake every time he comes in… not sure if it is really my pipe has it or he bluff me…he spent over 2 hours at my place with his snaking machine trying to dislodge whatever thing is choking my drainage.
tell me if you want his contact. My choke is pretty hard to remove due to my Renovation 11 years ago, I closed off a water trap on the ground floor…

This is a general advice after a few years being in media industry listening from left, right and centre. So please don't say I got no media experience.

1.  If you are a property owner, you should have a "black book" with all the contacts for trusted electrician, plumber, air-conditioning repairman, locksmith, insurance company number for emergency services (if you have one), etc. You get the idea.

2. Don't want until the stuff is at the tip then go look for toilet. When that happens, the chance of not getting carrot is very low.

3. Somethings like hard to find parts, better buy it first eg some old fashion toilet have valve flap types and not the modern type. Even not hard to find parts eg bulb should have spare.

4. Have a set of simple tools at home, you never know, when your neighbor can help but got no tools.

With these in mind, in case of an emergency, you don't have to run around like a madman and panicky away. Steady .....

Pour boiling hot water down the choked pipe.

If it does not clear, do it 2 more times.

If it still doesn't work, buy unchoked gel from Horme.

Plumbing is not easy work, sometimes better to just pay people do.

Have to turn and twist your body and arm.

That time I tried to DIY changed the refill part(?) inside the toilet bowl tank....wah lan eh. Took me more than an hour and a lot of sweat.

Some nuts are really tight, need strong arms like The Rock and the right tools. I had to remove the whole tank from the toilet bowl first then changed the part inside it. Fixed back had to make sure white tape are used, nuts are tightened and no water leak.

Agree. I will also check out Youtube first before attempting to DIY. I'll pay for someone to do it if the work is too challenging. If I make a mess, OC will surely make me stand by toilet. :ouch-it-hurts:

Bro, don't kenna ketok for nothing.

3 things I always do when the basin is choked.

1) Unscrew the cap below the sink to clean the gunk

2) Use a plunger to pump at the sink hole

3) Buy a Mr Muscle declogger and use it. Pour the whole bottle in and wait 30 mins. Then use boiling water to pour into the sink hole.
