Yeah just link up your credit card and link card after you dl the app. Once you reach the pump, enter the pump number while inside the car. After refuelling up, get back inside your car and complete the transaction. Your card detail is stored inside the app so don't need to input each time.

I had been handling the pump myself 100% since i started 14 years ago. First Shell then Esso.

Normally I would plug it in, squeeze and set to auto speed/stop, then walk to the other side and wait. It has become a standard procedure so as to avoid the fumes. This means I cannot see if the fuel is overflowing out of the car. But I am always attentive and know how many litres should go in. (During pandemic, I always wear a plastic bag over 1 hand and throw away after use)

So far never had an issue, but this thread informs me that actually malfunction can happen more frequent than I assumed.

So the takeaway is that I should stand on the side of the fuel flap, still distance away and observe visually.

Thanks all for feedback.

As a rider, I never had any issues with the pump all these years. Never trusted the auto pump though.

But since its Covid season, if you're a driver, I actually recommend everyone to let the pump attendant fuel up for you whenever possible (if they're not busy) during this period. This is to avoid as much contact with high touch surfaces as possible. Either that or please make sure you sanitise your hands right after, before touching your steering wheel, your phone etc.

For riders, fuelling up ourselves is second nature but I made sure I sanitise or wash my hands right after that.

Stay safe everyone!

Yep just installed and fill in the details. To be honest the app feel crappy 😂😂😂

We'll see how it goes at my next fill up.

We are a bunch of super fortunate drivers living in Singapore. If you have pumped petrol in other countries, as near as just across the cause way, you will want to watch your car and pump closely when at the petrol kiosk.

Faulty pump is the least to worry, petrol and car thief is a more serious concern to me. I personally has a near miss while pumping in JB. Was topping up my tank, and just walked across to another pump wanting to get a portable wiper to clean my rear windscreen, and a motorcyclist actually took my pump and wanted to insert the nozzle into his tank. I shouted and the guy zoomed away, leaving the nozzle on the floor...

I urged all of you to watch the pump, be it for safety or security reasons. If you are dead sure how much petrol can goes into the tank, another alternative is to fixed the pump amount, so that nothing could have gone wrong.

JB?

Where's that and what's that?

Sound so distant.

since driver know his tank capacity & got 2 bars of petrol inside, he should just key in how much he wants to pump.

unless in msia want to pump max until the brim then I don't key in how much

How many people do this here in Singapore?

Everyone i know just fills to max

Have a pack of wet tissues in your car. Can be very handy sometimes. :)

Yeap I have wet tissue but against the coronavirus you'll need more than the usual wet tissue. Sanitizer or wash your hands after using the pump will be the best. I use a disinfectant wipe to clean the steering wheel and door handles after someone else has touched them.

Spray petrol on hands to sanitized? Joking....

I pumped on my own decades ago, why?

Cos every time I inserted the nozzle, the attendant would appear from no where asking how he could help.

That's where I shove them off with a  flick of my palm.

Esso actually sanitise the fuel pump every now and then.

Good practice to sanitizer your hands and also clean up the steering wheel and touch points in the car, whether or not got someone touched them, during this covid period or even pre-covid.

Yes actually. There are some habits I picked up in a post-Covid world that I see myself doing even if COVID is no longer around. Like lift buttons, escalator handles etc. I can no longer look at them the same way again. Haa.

hahaha, like the way some of us use the key to poke the lift button?

someone saw me do that the other day and said that was actually worse than using the finger .. and i went huh?

but the reasoning is that if there was virus on the lift button, and it got onto the key, then it would remain on the key because we never wash our keys .. but if we use our finger, we would be able to sanitise or wash our hand soon after ..

I have the habit of sanitising my hand after pump petrol.  Cannot stand the smell of petrol on my hand.
