hahaha, like the way some of us use the key to poke the lift button?

someone saw me do that the other day and said that was actually worse than using the finger .. and i went huh?

but the reasoning is that if there was virus on the lift button, and it got onto the key, then it would remain on the key because we never wash our keys .. but if we use our finger, we would be able to sanitise or wash our hand soon after ..

I stopped using key to poke lift at least a year.

When i walk towards lift, left hand to poke button while right hand hold hand sanitizer.

After press button, i will use hand sanitizer immediately.

That's if you sanitise before you reach for the keys with your hands 🤣

haha psychological for me only ..

never sanitise hand but dont feel "dirty" as it was the key that touched the lift button, but factually virus would possibly stay on key and then get onto my hand ..

Yes actually. There are some habits I picked up in a post-Covid world that I see myself doing even if COVID is no longer around. Like lift buttons, escalator handles etc. I can no longer look at them the same way again. Haa.

Yes yes, maybe it is good to have some OCD. Lol.

You are not wrong to say this. Using our hand to touch and we still can sanitize or wash our hand. But we seldom will clean up or even wash up our personal items.

Most people don't bother sanitising their hands after pressing the lift buttons anw. Just based on my own observations. Majority of the people I know don't bother sanitising at all. If they're out with me I'll pass them sanitiser though. One of my gf even refused to sanitise saying masking up is enough. They either don't read up enough or simply don't bother. But there's really no turning back once you realise just how filthy all these high touch points are.

I thought the reason why it is discouraged to use keys to poke the life buttons is to prevent the applied anti-virus protection coating from being scratched and get broken down?

Habits difficult to change la. If a person whole life never like to be a hygiene person, even covid also same same.

I am using the knuckle on my little finger to press those lift button. I don't carry key around.

Unless you wash hand immediately, no difference from using finger to press

If want to press the lift button, usually is no choice la, if not how? Lol. So must remember not to touch your face after your hand has touched the button and before you sanitize or wash your hand lo. Unless the lift comes with touchless button.

Left hand to press the button.

Right hand hold hand sanitiser.

Once press will use hand sanitiser immediately.
