I watch taiwan news said that this new variant cant detect by swab test and vaccine might not work too. And it spreads few times easily. Really worry for India

actually worry for the whole world ... because the variant has reached many countries liao

and will continue to spread to other countries ... don't think spore is safe or we already have the double or triple mutant variant [sweatdrop]

Yes for the communities cases.  :we-all-gonna-die:

But our daily imported cases, CMI ...  :lll._.:

Ask ICA & MOM, how come ?

Of course you still put restrictions on travels from high risk countries but on like-for-like travelling we should be looking at vaccines to do their job.

Do be vigilant and continue to practise good personal hygiene, wearing of masks and safe distancing.

However scary, if everyone choose to play their part by refusing to host Covid-19, their spread can be stopped. Till the next covidiot, that is.

Booster shots will probably be a regular "virus update" thingy to handle various mutations till our bodies build up own strong immunity or whatever, whenever.

It does get wearisome and tiring but want to be grateful that there are ways to prevent and minimise infection at this point.

Let's do our part to ensure our healthcare system is not taxed and everyone's kept safe.

No more deaths due to Covid-19, please 🙏🙏🙏🙏

For India, I hope the cases will taper off soon and those needing critical care will get their oxygen and proper care.

It is good to see various countries passing resources to them, better late than never. A life saved is better than a life lost to Covid-19.

They are reaping the consequences of letting their guards down too early.

I sincerely hope we learn from their errors and gleam wisdom on keeping our ppl safe and well.

Stay safe all

Cheers

Both ICA & MOM relies on advice from MoH.

What I see now is Indian coming in from other countries.

We need to increase the travel history to 28 days.

India's COVID-19 death toll surpasses 200,000 after record case surge

Quote

NEW DELHI: India's toll from the coronavirus surged past 200,000 on Wednesday (Apr 28), the country's deadliest day yet, as shortages of oxygen, medical supplies and hospital staff members compounded a record number of new infections.

The second wave of infections has seen at least 300,000 people test positive each day for the past week, overwhelming healthcare facilities and crematoriums and driving an increasingly urgent international response.

sexpert says the figure is widely under reported or misreported

many cases classified as "non covid death" where it is presumably highly related ... [sly]

And hence my limited understanding is to have more measure in limiting the risk of introducing the imported case into the wild within a highly concentrated Singapore.

imagine if the new variants has a more viral and deadly effect . But we are so relax in the train and start to spread from train to children to schools.. mind boggling..

whole next generation at risk

of course one would hope it’s all a hypothesis.

but if it becomes like a movie. It’s going be very bad.

Logistics is another issue.  Let's hope it gets solved otherwise you will have lots of supplies but not distributed to where they are needed.

Turbocharged

Some mainstream outlet says to use x10 to x30 figure for reality.

I think its really bad there. I deal with an offshore india team of about 12 fellas. All of them have either covid/family members with covid/showing symptoms (too risky to test... many caught covid at testing centers). Seems no one is spared there.

When china/us was at its peak it was still not too common to hear someone in the china/us teams infected.

My instant reaction is closer to the x10 level, on the deaths recorded.

Only deaths in hospitals counted as Covid.

And the hospitals are overflowing.

All the people died not in hospitals not counted.

So you can imagine the true figure.

After a lot of criticism in social media

Modi had decided to take decisive action to end the criticim.

He had banned all social media from criticising him.

That's one way of doing it.
