if the water is safe, dun even need waste resource to evaporate it.

if not safe, then the radioactive substance will go into the air, all the jap will breath it in instead, or become rain and come back down

i have no idea honestly.
But i think the amount of water involved is significant and that dilution with the existing seawater which is on an order of many magnitudes more will dilute  whatever remnant radioactivity there is left.

I am no expert, daily every countries around the world are discharging toxic waste into the sea, of course majority treated. However, this is very different from dumping waste like the amount in Fukushima. It is very hyprocite for USA and Taiwan to state otherwise and then sing high and low about others. Karma will befall them.

its true everybody dump that stuff into the ocean. but the whole world combine also didnt dump 1 million ton of that water into the sea per year..

i think they gonna do it in 1 year or 2, imagine that million ton of radioactive water circulate around japan.

its not they take the water and spread over the sea in the world to dilute it.

there is a big different throwing a bin of rubbish in your backyard, compare to a dump truck  full of rubbish.

“If it was not contaminated or radioactive they would not need approval (to release the water) from Japan’s nuclear regulator,” he said. “The water in the tanks is indeed treated, but it is also contaminated with radioactivity. The Japanese government has been deliberately seeking to deceive over this issue, at home and abroad.”

I read somewhere that the nuclear reactor will take about 30 years to decommission...hence the jap will continue to use water to cool the reactor down and continue to dump the radioactive water into the ocean for at least 30 years! The issue is huge! it is not a one off thingy!
