The van skidded,  he still kept going without slowing down until he was too late to stop.

I think you never ride a Motorcycle before,i also a Motorcyclist myself,in this View,esp in the Wet,Rider will try to avoid the Van,rather than Jam on the Brakes...Jam on Brakes sure skid...
