The details of the April 2021 1st open bidding exercise for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) are as follows:

Tender opens: Monday, 5 April 2021, 12 noon
Tender closes: Wednesday, 7 April 2021, 4.00 pm
Tender results: Wednesday, 7 April 2021 (Available on the www.onemotoring.lta.gov.sg website)

The total quota available for this tender is 2,960 (-4) for the following vehicle categories:

NON-TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES
Category A : Cars (up to 1600cc & 97kW (130bhp)) => 883 (-3)
Category B : Cars (above 1600cc or 97kW (130bhp)) => 958 (+12)
Category D : Motorcycles => 560 (+18)

TRANSFERABLE CATEGORIES
Category C : Goods Vehicles and Buses => 263 (-29)
Category E : Open Category => 296 (-2)

Last weekend I visited Toyota showroom super pack no SE available must queue so I guess COE will Up.

+ 2 weeks ago I was at the showroom 10am got a decent crowd

I think most prob will go up

but then again, it always go opposite of what we think - so will go down.

Car COE extensions plunge by 50% - Fall for first time in a decade could mean bigger COE supplies ahead

The number of car certificate of entitlement (COE) revalidations - which form the bulk of total COE extensions - has fallen for the first time in a decade, and this could mean bigger COE supplies ahead.

According to fresh statistics from the Land Transport Authority, the figure plunged by more than 50 per cent to 20,071 in 2020 - from 2019's record of 41,777.

Lol lousy journalism.

COE quota also plunged from 2009 to 2010 (ie. 10 years ago), so naturally, the number of cars needing COE renewal also plunged in 2020 as compared to 2019.

What the journalist should compare is the change in percentage of renewal out of total number of cars with expiring COE.....

PQP history can be checked easily.. it wasn't a few thousand dollars.

and COE returning to the market will have a delayed effect, ie, people will buy car before their COE expires and the COE will only return to the market few mths down the road.

best is to just buy the car when you need it, no point to time the market..

Don't generalise la, one of our millionstars in the popular Jurong area drives COE estima, scrapped and changed to another COE estima
