COE prices take a hike.

Bus and train fares take a hike.

The government is literally telling you to take a hike.

Walking will be the new big thing. 😁

Public transport fare hike

KNN, have our salary gone up? Pui!!!

Our salary only go up a bit that not enough to pay for all these price hikes. Very sad.

Increase fare is the simplest solution when nobody thinks especially when there is no competition. Are they too fat and top heavy? Too many duplicated services? Too much sub contracting and too little choice of sub contractors? To reduce operational cost by 5% can be easily done. Change CEO and set this KPI may I suggest.

September, Mr Iswaran said public transport ridership was at about 60 per cent of what it was before the coronavirus outbreak

When that ridership recovers... world oil supply pumps up again lowering prices.... they gonna be giving dividends and fat bonus o themselves I guess...

Plus new reason why further increases are needed ... probably  due to increased ridership and more work..

Increased fare if got even better and improvement in the service then still ok. But if they still provide poor bus and mrt service then very bad.

Fare increase/decrease is driven by
https://www.ptc.gov.sg/fare-regulation/bus-rail/fare-regulation-framework

If it follows the formula strictly, fare will increased by 50%.

When things go back to normal, fare will decrease by 50%.

Looking at the formula

https://www.ptc.gov.sg/fare-regulation/bus-rail/fare-regulation-framework

With the increase in fuel price in 2021, there will be fare hike in 2022.

Commuters disappointed at public transport fare hikes; experts say next increase could be more

Ms Kelly Ng, who is with GrabFood, said she sometimes takes the bus to make her delivery runs, but will now consider walking more often.

The 31-year-old takes public transport almost every day and already finds the current fares steep.

“I was upset the moment I saw the news. Fares have been increasing almost every year and earning is hard. A one-cent increase would have been more acceptable,” she said.

Disappointed still many govt shills on asiaone fb saying increase is reasonable, expected etc.

These people live alone, no dependents and only take public transport once a year?

Look forward to more clueless and/or entitled cyclists on the footpaths and the roads... I can begrudgingly bury my car-buying dream, but to keep squeezing me for taking public transport 😞
