The new norm after 2030 will be a lot of fighting cases over not vacating the lot after charging, and increase in vandalism - scratch the car hogging the charging point..

NO infrastructure to support EVs now. How to buy EVs to avoid petrol excise duty? Where to charge car? Lame excuse to raise petrol excise duty.

Cannot. :a-noway:  EV catching fire is not acceptable because it's no longer a "Green Plan" liao.

You're assuming both Ioniq 5 and VW ID3 are cheaper than Tesla 3?

passenger cars can.

Commercial vehicle i dunno how really. The more loaded they are, the faster the battery depletion.

I remember OYK once said that commercial fleet may be better off running on Hydrogen.

Singaporeans being the kiasu type, most will chope the slow charger lots even when their batteries are still 90% full just in case the next day all the charger lots are taken up by others like themselves! [laugh]

In the same line of thought, what's to prevent a desperate EV driver from unplugging a charging vehicle, and reset the charger for his/her own EV?

Hydrogen can be used for shipping.

Problem is u can't have two competing infrastructures for two competing solutions. First u have pre existing petrol stations which can be converted to hydrogen I guess. But then your passenger vehicles all on electric or hybrid. Its not profitable to run hydrogen stations for just commercial vehicles.

Just for discussion and enlightenment. Shouldn't the substations and grid infra be upgraded first? Isn't it wasteful to "focus on building slow chargers" only to replace them in the near future with fast chargers?

Is fast charger hardware backward-compatible with slow charging? Like how USB 3.0 is backward-compatible with USB 2.0.

Before our 4G leaders think about such green initiatives, someone called Ho something with exceptional foresight already say little red dot needs to go nuclear. Apparently, many politicians hear already balls shrink.

Next time no more car scratching. It will be take out the plug and pour superglue on the socket of the car hogging the lot.

They better spread out the lots with charger over the all the floors in the MSCP, and away from the entrance for cars/human.  If stupid stupid locate all the charging lots near the entrance and on the first floor, then that will worsen the situation.

No difference. Too many mofos in Sg that dunno how to be automatic n share. Look at how well the shared bike thingy or PMD sharing walkways turned out

EV charging lots are the next frontier for ugly, inconsiderate behaviour wherever u put it. Watch this space....

What if the charging facility start to charge $1/min for hogging?

It can be implemented easily.

Yes hope the system is smart enough to do that

But knowing how self-entitled n unreasonable some mofos can be, they'll probably unplug to prevent the system from charging them $$....but leave the EV parked there anyway coz couldn't be bothered to look for a new parking lot

For Taxi, it will be charged in depot just like buy petrol in depot now.

For PHV, just charge the car during your downtime.

Expand

You say like easy hor.. you never drive taxi and phv.. so you just don't understand..

The downtime = to go home time.. taxi also got their own home leh. Why they want to waste time waiting to charge full before going home? What about 2 shift driver?1 shift already clocked say 350km. So battery maybe left 1/4 or less.. need charge the if slow charge need 3 hrs to charge full? Like that how to have 2 shift driver?
