I don't get upset or lose sleep over the comments, just wondering if we can be kinder with words. I'm not condoning the driver or the passengers for what they did, what they did is definitely wrong and so selfish and I agree that it's really fortunate that no other innocent pedestrians or road users were physically hurt. yes, is fortunate no innocent pedestrians at the moment. However if really involve pedestrian and someone related definitely the mindset and thought will be differently...

Yes but Thats still no reason for anyone to use public roads as a track unless fully prepped up as a track (F1)

A lot of keyboard warriors hiding behind the screen making nasty and unnecessary comments. They made a mistake and are already dead. Not saying everyone should pity them or sympathize with their families. But sometimes if nothing better to say then maybe better to keep quiet. I disagree to a point. I feel we should not be toxic in comments (example? Disturb the family). OTOH, if there is such noise on the social media, no action will be taken. In fact, iirc, the very day after the tragedy, there was another car race going on and another one slammed into a lamp post. But no one died. So the thing is, if there weren't the uproar and the toxic comments that came with it, authorities will just say no complaints and the carry on doing nothing much. The big question is can a post or incident become viral without any toxic comments? Maybe. But for it to be viral, you need a lot of people to comment and inevitably, some will be toxic. And at the back of my mind, I also wonder what long term action will the govt do regarding such racers after this tragedy. The bolded comment, I agree to an extent. Sometimes if something is not nice but it's the truth, it's best to say it. Let's not over sanitise our speech. But if we are saying something not nice just to get a two cents in, then better to keep quiet. Edited February 16, 2021 by Philipkee 5
