It has always been possible to bid for COE individually, except ADs won't allow me to do it and some can't even be assed to find out how it's done. I hope this becomes a trend in the near future with more brands going directly to consumer and we do the COE bidding ourselves, not the ADs.

Yes, some SEs are absolutely clueless about the products they are supposed to be selling. I've lost count on the number of times I need to "educate" them on their product and it's competition, while they are trying to "sell" their stuff to me 😁

Yes. Most ad will not allow u to bid the coe yourself. Because for them coe is a margin. Coe goes up, they charge you higher first. Coe go down, they drop maintain. If you ask for no coe package, the ad will give some stupid number or else don’t want to sell you. That however is about to change.

pretty much with the knowledge base on the internet nowadays, we more or less know what we want and so far every car I see, the se always has problems answering my questions when I ask about particular specifications in detail.

For those owners coming from BMW M, MB AMG, Audi RS, nobody is dissing the lack of "soundtrack" from the noiseless Tesla?

I thought a stirring exhaust note is one of the pre requisites for this group of owners? 😁

I think exhaust noise is overrated anyway. Since 2018 most cars have a gasoline particulate filter that takes away any good sound. M cars have fake exhaust piped in through the speakers so nothing much is lost.

if you ask me, in fact I think the m3p has more road feel than any modern performance sedan because the steering rack is so much quicker, and given the silence, you really can hear everything on the road. From rocks, to leaves to water puddles etc. it feels more go kart like, just a throttle and brake, very direct steering and you feel the elements around you. No distraction of engine noises, gears, power and etc

Most car enthusiast would love to change to non-GPF version.

Sadly, cannot do that in Singapore.

I have not driven any Tesla yet, but I can understand where you are coming from.  Low C/G, battery pack right in the middle of the axles, the lack of weight upfront all translate to the recipe for sharp turn-in/steering response if the suspension/tires setup is up to scratch.

I can't help but feel as a proposition of a performance car, the entire experience can be a bit too sterile. Numerous test drives videos on Youtube seem to confirm this, we just get shoved into the seats while watching the speed build up relentlessly on the big screen with the scenery flying by.  But I guess, different strokes for different folks, that's fair enough. For some, the serenity accompanied with the effortless pick up is the whole point of getting the dual motored Model 3.

It's not as silent as most think it is. Without the engine sound, you'll hear a lot of road noises. Air con is noisy too at high.

You have to try one when test drives are available. Most evs are 50/50 weight distribution and the low cg helps with stability despite the added weight. The model 3 also comes with passive suspension so there’s a lot of handling mods you can do to it easily.

I have had Hawkeye sti, evo 9 and Fd2R before and honestly I think the m3p is also the next generation tiong chia hahahaha. Put on some brake pads and some semi slicks and it is good to go track. If you gave me a choice now, I wouldn’t go back to those jdm cars. It’s like a bigger go kart. No distractions. Just throttle and brake and the road.

yes I noticed this in my test drive of the m3p as well as the taycan. With the cars so silent, your ears pick out sounds like stones, different road textures and other small things you wouldn’t have noticed in an ice car

Don’t think Hong seh will be dumb to allow test drives now. For sure everyone will test and buy from Tesla direct.

Your acting skills must be excellent.  Dun let the salesman see through you.

Is the auto pilot option allowed in Singapore?

the basic autopilot only do this:
"Enables your car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically for other vehicles and pedestrians within its lane."

to steer = lane keep assist (LKA)
accelerate and brake auto = cruise control + auto emergency braking (EAB)

yes, this is allowed. in fact many other make & models already incorporated this feature long ago

Adaptive Cruise Control.  The car will keep distance with the vehicle in front based on preset distance.

I believe the Model S and X not made in Shanghai Gigafactory. Only the Model 3, and Model Y just launched a month ago in mainland.

I believe I belong to the old convention type of sinkie. Still cannot understand how can ppl just buy car without a test drive.

with the youtube video commenting about how bad the finishing of the car, I just could put $150-200k to buy this purchase 😅
