Zoomzoom5535 5th Gear January 7, 2021 Share January 7, 2021 My kitchen drawer is no more soft closing now, and I think the slide mechanism spoils. Usually the slide is installed at the side of the drawer, but mine is under it. Anyone know where can I find the replacement? I tried to put the entire drawer out to inspect, but it can't be removed. Please share and guide if you have DIY before. Thank you. ↡ Advertisement

Watwheels Supersonic January 8, 2021 Share January 8, 2021 So far I have only replaced IKEA ones. Yeah. Can try Thye Seng along Geylang like ER-3682 suggested. They have a wide range.
Justdaniel 1st Gear January 8, 2021 Share January 8, 2021 The very first thing that you should do is to search for the sliding mechanism to release the locking of the drawer. It is usually a lever but this lever would not appear unless you pull the drawer fully.
mersaylee Hypersonic January 8, 2021 Share January 8, 2021 Try to dismantle the parts you're able to and clean then reassemble them to see if it works...that's how I resolved my ikea ones that way. Hope it does the same for you. Usually it's the tracks or rails that got dirty and sticky after a period of time that impede the slide...

Volvobrick Supersonic January 8, 2021 Share January 8, 2021 (edited) Some time the catch gets out of alignment and cannot engage the soft closing spring catch. See if you can adjust that. You can also add a stand alone soft closing damper like this : Worst case just measure the length and buy a similar set online! Please share and guide if you have DIY before. Thank you. I just replaced some BLUM ones. Yours doesn't look like BLUM. First you have to find out the brand (BLUM, Hettich, local ripoffs etc), then the exact model of the rails (look for it printed on the side of the rail). There is usually a quick release latch on the orange plastic tab, release both sides and you can then lift the drawer out. Go buy identical new rails (can try Khiang Sing Hong @ woodlands) and usually you only need to replace the rails (probably secured by some screws), no need to replace the quick release latch already attached to the drawer.
Ct3833 Supersonic January 8, 2021 Share January 8, 2021 If your are the heavier duty ones, can try excel. I am looking for full stainless steel but hardly available. https://s.lazada.sg/s.ZZHDA

Yes, you're right. Need to click the quick release latch on the orange plastic lab to remove the drawer. I'll remove the drawer tomorrow to clean the slides and see if it helps. Otherwise, I will get the replacement. Have a blessed weekend ahead!

The soft close mechanism is basically a small piston damper inside the rail that retards the force of the drawer slamming. After years of use the damper loses its damping ability. Unless your brand allows the damper to be purchased separately, otherwise you have to buy the entire 2-rail set.

Ghgan 6th Gear January 8, 2021 Share January 8, 2021 https://ezbuy.sg/product/51000475140922.html bottom drawer soft closing rail. I only replaced the bracket on the bottom of the drawer itself, the latch on the left and right panel inside the cabinet no need to change.
