the fastest i can get on Starhub 5G was 600+ and most of the time average around 100 only.

About that i think.  I hv not seen a 600+. Max was 400+, you standing next to the transmitter?

Have you experience this failure to load issue? It is getting less frequent but when it happens, I need to activate and then deactivate airplane mode to get 5G to load.

Ok, then it is normal.

Starhub 5G is quite a disappointment for me so far and with this lag issue, I have been thinking of switching to Singtel or an MVNO using their 5G network. If I am paying more for 5G, I need to see the value there. I am not seeing much.

IMHO.
If you have no issue with 4G,  unlikely you will have more value from 5G.
E.g. I have issue with TPG 4G because too many users in one of my location.   When they offer free 5G and my mobile switched over,  I at least can use some bandwidth.
E.g.  If you have issues with TPG 4G and 5G in connectivity,   Singtel network 5G may be a suitable.

I using Zym ... between 4G and 5G,   typical surfing,  basically is a bit faster response and loading.

Recently I got the M1 Maxx at $12/month.

Coverage is quite bad, especially in certain buildings like Bukit Timah Shopping Centre Basement 1, and foot reflexology shops at Sunset way.

I can’t access their online menu to place my food order in the Buddy Hoagies restaurant.  I have to step out of the restaurant to finally gain some internet access.

Previously I was paying $50 for monthly subscription to Singtel.

Really as what the Chinese always said, “1-cent money, 1-cent goods”.

Was you in the cubicle or main hall for the foot reflexology massage? I reckon main hall coverage should be better.

By the way why do you need network when having your foot massaged🤔

Singtel - Starhub - M1 - Simba, in terms of connectivity. I've used all these telcos in recent years on my phone and android car player which I'm using mainly for online radio, so it's easy for me to feel the differences in terms of their network strength.

For large video, 5G still helps.

It is a matter of time the telco will move everyone to 5G as they won't want to maintain 2 networks. Many tricks to encourage you like throttling 4G speed.

IMHO.

My understanding is that not necessarily 5G will help with large video - the speed may be clamped or throttle at the servers.
Servers common connection is 1Gbe.  5G is much faster than 1Gbe and even 10Gbe.
The fastest I've even gotten on a 5G connection is around 1600 Mbps.

4G is like 40? If can get 200 mbps, that is 5x faster.

There is a notifiable difference but it isn't the 1000 i am expecting. 😂

IMHO.
4G variants for my MVNOs like Zym and Heya can easily go above 100 Mbps.
Record for me for Singtel is close to 500 Mbps.
Maybe nowadays too crowded,    so hard to reach 1000 Mbps.
