At my place, eight is consistently getting only 8Mbps, maybe that's why it's called 8. 😁 Simba 5G is not the best, it seems to peak at 100Mbps.

I remember I had giga 5G, and it did 300Mbps.

Perhaps both eight and Simba are throttling on the backend, which is why they can offer "more" for less.

Expand

Personally 100mbps I think still acceptable if it is really cheap, (a few years back I was getting about 150mbps on an older phone on 4g, and wifi 5)  so have to give and take a little, but single digit really not for me lor, I scare I end up smash the phone and need a new one. [:p] [laugh] [laugh]

But I am curious, how do you live with 8 mbps down load? Serious question.

Even my M1 fibre broadband (2.5Gbps) only has down/up at 93Mbps this afternoon despite us being cut-off overnight for maintenance/upgrade.

It is good that u realize the limitation of your hardware.... A lot of subscribed to 10 gbps and didn't know most of their old network card supports max 100mbps or 1 gbps :D

Not cheap at all.

$8 got 288gb.

With free roaming and calls on plans, better than before, and still better than some others. They have, at least, reacted.

actually most PC and laptop are at 1gbps max, unless they bought the latest one with upgrade, if not likely still 1gbps. Can always upgrade the network card though, bought mine for $70++ TP Link 10gbps desktop network card.

I switched to Starhub when it first started because SH was the first to give free incoming to take market share from ST and M1.

I then switch to Redone $8 plan when Redone first started because they gave full data to MY.

Today I just switched to 8 because they gave 488GB for MY and TH.

And 8GB roaming, 1GB more than Lion King.

So I am back to SH again today but never really left because Redone is also on SH network.

Before free incoming salesmen in my company can have $700 phone bills.

So when SH came along I told them to switch as I did and their bills dopped to $100+

Free incoming was SH master stroke to take share from M1 and ST and forced them to follow!

Now Lion King is doing a great job taking market share because of their 7GB roaming

and thanks to SB, 8 has to give 8GB!

For Home BB I was on SH $30 500MB plan

and thanks to @Kb27 I switched to SB $5 data only plan.

MIL complain very slow and cannot post nonsense on MCF

so I told here to just live with it!

Save $25 a month and its $300 a year savings!

I just topped up $40 and SB gave another $40 so I am good for the next 16 months!

Thank you Lion King.

The King of Data only plans.

Long may your reign continue.

Please don't stop before the next 16 months is up!

Any feedback on 8 Mobile?

I travel quite a fair bit to China and I find the voice roaming and the 10GB international data roaming plans generous.

They are on Starhub 4G network but what I heard reception is better than Simba's.

Singtel - Starhub - M1 - Simba in terms of network reception. Tried and tested many MVNO. Using Eight now. M1 and Simba I'll avoid as main line.
