I just tested out my son tablet with the inserted free sim. Can be done.

Ginto the Web page. Log in using the free sim phone number. You will receive the otp through sms. 

Once logged in. Go to the my account page. Then under change of plan you can proceed to subscribe the $8 plan.

My starhub sim stopped working. However the new Simba has no service after I swapped. Anyone know how long is the gap in service? How to activate the simba sim (if there is such a thing)?

Is it registered already on SIMBA ? If yes, but no service, try rebooting the phone.

I tried to port-in another number using eight on webpage.

But was stuck at Verification.

There was 3 steps. I had to choose "Mobile'. bcuz my desktop doesn't have a webcam.

So it goes to a email link, scan front, scan back of ID. The last one for face verification failed. I can't control the camera to do selfie. What a crap design. 😁

I done my port in over the counter. I was briefed by the boy there on how to use the webpage to access "my account".

OK finally working after my sleep. Transition not seamless. Probably a few hours gap.

Isn't Super Eight Plan the current $0 . 88GB plan ?

Meaning there's no change in plan.

$8, 188GB is called Double Eight Plan.

So she will learn not to spend time watching streaming etc or what not. 😁

look for those Lite plan or senior plan, but i am sure she still can find wifi to watch whatever she want :D

Best is don't give phone. Mine didn't get one till mid Secondary.

Long story of my attempt to port-in. 😁

  1. Via Webpage. stuck at verification of ID, step 3 for facial recognition don't work. I found Brave browser not working for this step. So I switch to Chrome. It also didn't work for the 1st time, then later the webpage worked.
  2. Data of photo ID/face verification, sent to server to continue on Webpage - shows error, contact customer service. I tried 2 more times with same error message
  3. Went to their "Retail counter" at Junction 9. Lady said they don't have SIM card for port-in.. Hmm.. wasted trip. I wonder what they can do ?
  4. Came home and try again on webpage. First time, I choose $0 Super Eight Plan, got same error message as before. Second time choose $8 Double Eight Plan. It works. And now, I think the problem is bcuz I had earlier collected two $0 plan SIM cards. They won't give me a 3rd $0 one. 😁

my girl next year sec 1. She's using my wife's phone for whatsapp nowadays lol.
but also want her to have her privacy as she gets older.

i think hard lah nowadays. But i will put significant restrictions. Night time no handphone use etc. 

my girl has quite a bit of self control so i don't think it's a big problem. For years, I've also been talking about the cons of HP.

Secondary almost no choice. Most of the information (from cher, CCA) are disseminated via WhatsApp.
