Thanks.

Planning to switch whole family lines over to the $10 6gbsb with throttle speed there after.

Currently I am paying $5 caller id for 3 lines with M1. 2 of the lines with less than 1ghs usage per month on average which is a waste imo for that amount of subscription monthly.

That is a saving of $240 plus per year.

I am very cat (meow).😄

Switch my dad over to MyRepublic. Only slight hiccup at the start due to verification of the face via the app. Had to go down to the shop to do it. But at least there is a physical shop. Less than 2mins and fixed. So far so good.
I’m still on m1 cause Ah gong pay. Heck.

That's substantial savings!
Some telcos charge additional for caller ID and roaming. Have to verify.
The MyRepublic plan includes free caller ID with no roaming, i.e. roaming is additional.

Yes. Apparently M1 one of the telco charging caller id. Free caller id for new customer though but not existing customer.

How is the reception?

Also how is the throttle speed feel?

Planning to switch over for their $10 6 gbs for whole family.

Giving up on M1 as loyalty count for none in this time of age. (M1 latest promo only valid for new customer😤).

No complain from my wife regarding reception. They are using M1 network btw.

For 6gb @$10, can consider Giga, using Singtel network. And it's 500min, 500sms.

How is the throttle speed like? Surfing news/what app/using banking app still manageable?

Myrepublic throttled spd ard 4xx-512kbps at best, gd enough for whatsapp msg/calls, instagram/fb loads slow, games runs ok (tested on pokemon go), youtube cannot make it unless u set res to 120p (ok) or 240p (abit of buffing now n then), anything graphics intensive will b slow, news/banking apps can run but spd depends on how intensive e graphics are. Dun even think of watching vids on news apps or mcf....

Btw tats e dl spd, up spd is speechless (measured few yrs back but not sure how's e standard now). Tink along e lines of e dsl internet, dw spd is good but up spd is just a fraction of e dw spd. Posting/uploading contents online will b a pain.

But then again, there's lots of public places tat hav wireless@sg nowadays.

I thought giga uses starhub?  Gomo is the one using singtel.

I just switched both kids' to My Republic $10 plan.  They never use more than 1GB per month anyway.  Was using singtel mobile share but they charged extra for caller ID.  No complaints about the My Republic lines.  All good.

When my wife's and my singtel contracts are up, will also switch both lines to My Republic

Never go out.  On home WiFi most of the time.  When go uni for classes, use the school WiFi.  When commuting and on Spotify,  no need data also.  So every month use less than 1GB.

TPG gives all customers free outgoing calls to any local mobile number

By Ken Wong - on 1 Jul 2021, 3:31pm

You can now call any local mobile number for free! Image courtesy of TPG.

All SIM-only TPG subscribers can now make free outgoing calls to any mobile number in Singapore, even if it is under another telco. Best of all, TPG says this isn't a one-off offer, but a new feature to be enjoyed indefinitely.

Richard Tan, CEO of TPG Singapore said:

At TPG, we make every effort to improve our offerings and provide mobile plans with the best value for our customers. With this free upgrade, we provide our customers with greater peace of mind. They can connect with loved ones freely, and not be restricted by limited call minutes when face-to-face meetings may be limited.

This free talk-time feature will be added to all TPG SIM-only plans (S$10 for 100GB, S$18 for 130GB, and S$5 for 20GB Seniors Plan) and can be enjoyed by new and current customers immediately with a valid plan.

Giga network is ok but their customer support totally cannot make it at all. If encountered any problem, feedback to them no use and response at all.

Confirmed guaranteed and chopped. Even you scold them on their gigacare agent for their super bad customer service also no one responded. I dont know why can be like this? 😓 Maybe due to cheap price, so cannot complain?! Lol.

I was contemplating between tpg and my republic. Eventually decided on the latter. TPG coverage really can't make it. Seem my inlaw always complaining of poor network.
