Looks like WFH may end soon for most people

SINGAPORE - Restrictions on workers returning to offices may be relaxed, said Manpower Minister Josephine Teo on Tuesday (Dec 15).

"The multi-ministry task force has been discussing whether restrictions on returning to offices can be further loosened," she told reporters in Chinese after a visit to Singtel.

"Some announcements will be made in the near future soon. We need your patience to wait a little bit more."

Mrs Teo's comments came a day after the Government announced that Singapore will move into phase three of its reopening on Dec 28.

No need Jo Teo says, many companies already asked their workers to return to office in phase 2 liao. Lol. I guess maybe they would make it wfh as an option or voluntary basis by individual companies arrangement, and no more advisory? So from Jan 2021, public transport will be jam-packed again?

Now there is a problem. As we know people are just very kai su, like to chiong to be the 1st or what.

See the last weekend hotel queue, the trace together token queue, buying for new launch iPhone queue and etc..

So this one is vaccine, surely will expect a lot people to want to chiong to be the 1st or they just cannot wait. Later the queue to get vaccine very long. Hopefully government is going to anticipate that and come out with a system to ensure that people do not rush altogether to want to be the 1st few to get vaccine.

Maybe many people want to cheong to get vaccine, so that they would be protected from getting covid and no need to follow safe measures liao?

it's the worst scenario... most people are stuck here (cannot fly out for leisure or business), if all going back to work, the jam (bus, MRT, roads) will be worse than pre-covid period

So true.. Its what do we (individual country) value and how to make best use of information about science and data to fight the virus. Lastly it is the collaboration between government and private sector and have a national database that works.

I guess singapore is like Iceland where what Iceland does, Singapore also does the same thing too.

This is something I think not all Singaporeans will cheong for, unlike mask and TT token.

A vaccine is invasive to your body and you don’t even know the side effects yet.

Generally there will be 3 groups of people left. Singaporeans have almost zero immunity to CV-19.

Those that got COVID and recovered
Those that got vaccinated
Those that died

Ya even dengue  kill more ppl.

The fear of.cov.19 is not the ability  to kill. But more of the powerful and easy way it spread i think.

(Esp in country that have good medical facilities)

Hahaha.. Many people already start plan ahead for Chinese new year reunion dinner. This one really is so accurate on many Singaporeans here, a lot are very kan chiong..

Maybe this is why PM must announce phase 3 starts before year end, to allow people and business to plan for the coming CNY. As CNY is a very important day for chinese, so they would not possible allow 5 pax plus all the restricted measures? 🙄

Lets wait and see what Jo Teo would say for workers to return to office? As she asked us to wait patiently for the details to be announce soon.

Probably, I guess its either alternate days / weeks or as and when required. But morning and evening rush hour still feels packed.

Worth noting, that only 1,360 Singaporeans/PR's +902 residents have been reported infected locally. Hardly anyone has been exposed or carry COVID immunity.

"Outside the dormitories, the virus’s prevalence rate in Singapore was about 0.25% based on a serology sampling study of 1,600 people, according to a health ministry official."
