14-year-old arrested for allegedly murdering his father in Loyang home

SINGAPORE - A 14-year-old boy has been arrested for his suspected involvement in the murder of his 49-year-old father, the police said on Friday (Dec 11).

They had received a call for assistance at a residential unit in Flora Road in Loyang at 10.10am.

"Upon arrival, officers found the man injured and lying motionless at the said location," the police said in a press release.

He was taken unconscious to Changi General Hospital, where he later died.

His 14-year-old son was arrested at the scene, and will be charged in court on Friday with murder.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Another high profile murder just within a month. The other is the female funeral director charged for culpable homicide, killing her ex in a carpark. Also not much details yet.

However, according to the Criminal Procedure Code, a death sentence must not be passed or recorded against someone below the age of 18 years old.

Life imprisonment, on the other hand, is allowed.

 

Life imprisonment is not exactly for life right? Any cops here?

35 is still young, some 50 then become father.

I had a big party for my 20th wedding anniversary

and I was in my room when my son came in and said everyone is looking for you.

He saw I was crying and ask what's the matter?

I told him on my wedding night I had a very bad argument with his maternal grandmother

and I put my hands around her neck and started squeezing but the thought of life imprisonment frightened me and I took my hands off her neck.

Then my son asked so why are you crying now?

I said if only I didn't stop squeezing I would have been a free man today with no MIL.

when he comes out, he's about the same age as his father who had him 

hopefully he can then understand his father's pain
