I don't think so ba if he fails to deliver it will tarnish his reputation I think if cannot deliver means cannot. Tarnishing reputation is not as important as profits. Cos you might not be the only car. Plus lets say they bid higher. It only means that the COE will go up because instead of let's say the lowest successful bid being $40k, it's now $41k. And if the only at $40,999 doesn't want to tarnish reputation, he bids higher and now the lowest successful bid is $42000. And you did not get the bid unless the AD tops up and so on. That's the thing with the quota. Regardless of what the AD/PI wants, as long as demand exceeds supply, someone will lose out. 2 hours ago, Ttl1976 said: There is no best time, best price to buy. Ct3833 Supersonic December 9, 2020 Share December 9, 2020 (edited) People have short memory, COE price went up to near 100k during the drought period . We shall see next year and beyond when COE quota gets further reduced, the top volume selling cars will be Mercedes, BMW and other premium brands, B&B cars will only get to stand aside and watch the game. The only silver lining is those 5 years COE cars that were renewed a few years ago will be in for COE recycling to cushion the COE shortage to some extent. Jamesc Hypersonic December 10, 2020 Share December 10, 2020 Are you a lawyer? I want to hire you. I took a few G COE and I only budget 30k COE and now it much higher so I just want to refund. I don't care about reputation. I think everyone here know that by now. 15 hours ago, Bensky said: The only thing that’s guaranteed is your booking fee refund after 8 unsuccessful bids. If you read your contract carefully, you will discover nothing committal is mentioned about COE securing. G and non-G packages are non-legal binding arrangements conjured by car dealers. The T&C of all sales contracts, whether G or non G, are identical. G and non G are written definitions without associated legal statements.
Russ 1st Gear December 10, 2020 Share December 10, 2020 (edited) The Economy is NOT good. But when it comes to property prices and COEs, one huge factor is CASH. The cash holdings of Singaporeans is high.... ALSO, note that many medium and upper medium class Singaporean families spend like $10-20k a year on holidays for their families.... 4 trips per year is becoming very very common. This includes people who used NOT to buy cars. So, instead of travelling because they cannot, just buy a car ..... Add to that the desire to be less exposed to the virus on public transport, where safe distancing is nigh impossible, you have a recipe for $50K - $70K COEs in 2021. I am glad I got my Jazz at 68K - collected just 10 months ago... no way I can get anything similar for under 80K now.
