Lab-grown chicken to be sold in Singapore after 'world's first' approval for cultured meat

SINGAPORE: Consumers in Singapore can soon get a taste of lab-grown or cultured chicken after food technology start-up Eat Just received the go-ahead to sell the product here.

Announcing this on Wednesday (Dec 2), Eat Just said its cultured chicken has been given “first-in-the-world regulatory approval” by Singapore authorities. It will be used as an ingredient in its “chicken bites” or nuggets which the company plans to launch at a later date.

This would likely be the first time globally that a cultured meat product is sold commercially, said the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), which made public on Wednesday new guidelines to ensure the safety of food inventions.

But honestly speaking, its going to be more ex than real chicken nuggets so those eating it are eating it for prestige and experience.

anw i read we like got a 20 years rules for new food that must be  proven safe, something like that , how come we first country to try this

I had to go KL for a biz trip and my MY colleague took us out for dinner.

He was a devout Hindu and was going to carry the Kavadi for Taipusam so had to go vegetarian for 3 months.

So we went to a vegetarian restaurant and it was such a good meal I didn't miss meat.

So I think if we had good veg dishes then more people don't need to eat every meal.

This type of Vadai nicer
