I always advocate this too. Never worked very hard myself and always wondered why people stayed back office so late.

Must depend on your boss style. Some people work ‘hard’ and stay back office late is to show to boss, if boss is those type who like their staff to ‘stay back’. If everyday knock off on time, boss might think that this staff is not performing, then this staff no need to get promotion liao. 😂

You want to be an auditor?
Let’s see whether you can work smart 🤭

Why would I want to do a job that doesn't create much value? Like installing signal stalk on a BMW.

Anyway auditor jobs can be easily replaced by AI now. Do the job in 10 minutes instead of weeks. Probably a better one too.

In order to afford the $3,200 rental, the person salary must be at least $6k plus then can comfortably pay such amount of rental. So youngsters not even reach 30s, their salary already above $6k now?

local mortgage rates do not just move when Fed rates move.

rather it is the impact of Fed rates vis a vis the exchange rates that drives the MAS to act, trickling down to ABS etc etc….

As for the Banks, the rates it offers and takes is also linked to supply and demand of its business

anyway, not to worry, it will be softer in time to come, all else equal.

Cleaner diffuses fight between chicken rice stall owner and employee -- by kneeling down

whampoamain.jpg

A 69-year-old cleaner found herself in the middle of a heated dispute at Block 90 Whampoa Drive Food Centre, bravely intervening in a fight between a chicken rice stall owner and his employee.

The incident, which saw the employee brandishing a chopper, has left other hawkers shaken but full of praise for the woman's quick thinking and courage.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the conflict erupted on the evening of Sept 20 when the owner of the Millennium Hainan Chicken Rice stall and his employee became embroiled in a heated argument, allegedly over salary issues.

The altercation escalated rapidly, with the employee grabbing a chopper and pursuing the fleeing stall owner.

It was then that the cleaner, Madam Zheng, stepped in. Witness videos show Madam Zheng chasing after the employee, who was wielding the chopper, and successfully persuading him to return to the stall.

However, the employee remained visibly agitated.

In a remarkable display of bravery, Madam Zheng knelt before him and pleaded for him to calm down, ultimately diffusing the tense situation.

Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, Madam Zheng, who celebrated her birthday that day, downplayed her actions, simply stating that she did what she felt was right.

"I heard a commotion and went to see what was happening," she explained. "Then I saw the chicken rice stall owner running away with the employee chasing him with a chopper.”

Madam Zheng shared that she was relieved the stall owner managed to outrun his employee, narrowly escaping harm.

Determined to de-escalate the situation, she followed the employee back to the stall, pleading with him to put down the chopper.

Her actions were driven by a sense of responsibility, particularly because she had previously worked for the stall owner.

"I wanted to help him and prevent anyone from getting hurt,” she revealed, adding that her own safety and pride were not a concern at the time.

Reflecting on the incident, she mused: “It was my birthday that day, so it was bound to be unforgettable. I guess this is my birthday present to myself.”

While other hawkers admitted to being frightened by the ordeal, they were unanimous in their praise for Madam Zheng's courage and quick thinking.

Maids and their friends using condo pool dress scantily, pose provocatively for videos: Resident

It must be their day off.

A condominium resident is unhappy to regularly see maids and their friends dressing scantily and posing provocatively for videos in the condo pool.

Stomper IL, who lives in a condo in District 11, shared photos of one such incident, which took place on Sept 22 at around 6pm.

"I know there had been controversies with whether domestic helpers are allowed to use condo common facilities," said the Stomper. "I am not against a domestic helper who is hired by condo resident to use the facility as she is also a resident of the condo herself.

"But what happens if every week or alternate week for the past six months, a few of the domestic helpers would invite their friends to the condo, dressing scantily and posing provocatively to take pictures and videos?"

The Stomper said the women could be around from late mornings, bring their own lunch and stay until 8pm.

"They moved pool furniture around without rearranging it back and showered in the only one shower room before leaving the condo," said the resident.

The Stomper added that she had given feedback to condo management, but had not received a reply

She asked: "How do fellow condo residents think about this? Is this acceptable?"
