Yep, when they climb slopes, the pressure on the gas remains the same... and they will drop 20-30kph... sigh...

FC is indeed the priority of most vezal or HRV.

I would avoid staying behind  one at a traffic light junction.

But many would also tend to  travel on the R lane while being mindful of their FC at the same time.

That's how I always end up WOT to undertake.

FC vs poooooower; something must give right?

Luckily still haven't signed or made deposit yet ...hahaha

Lidat, must re-think again

Actually when I drove the previously iteration, you just need to stomp on the pedal and it will go... the engine is a willing revver.. but your FC will go out of the window too... but hey, like you said, one or the other right?

Just informed by Kah Motors sales agent that latest Honda HRV is open for booking with early promo discount of $5K.

Base model (DX) is quoted approx $124K/126K resp (6-bids NG/G) for the impending 5 Jan 2022 coe bidding.

Comes with rear aircon whereas PI's vezel seems to have no rear aircon. Unfortunately HRV stocks will arrive in March/April whereas PI stock is either ex-stock or ETA January 2022.

I'm very undecided bec my other driving family members strongly prefer HRV.

Looking to buy a 2021 model Vezel from a PI for the first time...haha

One PI even has petrol version Vezel with all the bells and whistles ie front electric seats, auto folding side  mirrors, rear aircon and electric tailgate.

Wondering how major is the Jap language issue with regard to driving safety?

How do present vezel owners handle the Japanese info on the console? (Demo at PI showroom somewhat fuzzy)

Comments appreciated.

[My apologies if I sound like a bumpkin as I never dealt with PI b4 :)) ]

How’s the other specs of DX and LX HR-V compared to PI Vezel petrol? Any Honda Sensing on HR-V?

indeed. pick up and torque is on the low side. hybrid would be nice.

When I was driving my viki 660cc. car, I had no qualm in keeping up with traffic.

It's the mindset and R foot. Power and torque are secondary.

Ultimately this is a decent car at a decent price in indecent COE times..

You cannot compare to another era when the same money can almost buy you an A Class for example..

The Mazda 3 is cheaper, and there's a Suzuki Vitara or the Subaru XV too... so there are choices.. and the XV comes with an English menu...

it seems that my mentioning of a certain parameter has lead to the assumption that all was sacrificed for the sake of this parameter. Rest assured that this is not the case. I move off in tandem with the other vehicles at equal acceleration rate and maintain speed during upslope climb. With these and after 40,000+km, I would like to say that the new vezel is quite an efficient vehicle. The only caveat is that I drive long distances during off-peak hours. Perhaps this is the key factor.

Coming back to vezel and hrv, these are the items that i would have preferred if hrv has them. These are ranked according to my preference.

1. Auto retractable side mirrors upon stopping engine (i am not sure if hrv has these.)

2. tilt-down on reverse

3. rear aircon

4.auto tail gate

While looking at the hrv brochure, i observed that the VES banding is B. my vezel is A2. As this affect resale value, this could be a good push if pricing of hrv is competitive.

happy car hunting. let me know if you need more info.

So you can't retract on the move? It's useful to get out of tight spots..

Let's see if the HRV retains VES B when it actually reaches the showroom..

there is a button to allow manual opening/closing of the side mirror. i understand there are other car models that will auto-close/fold the side mirror after switching off the engine. this would be good feature if hrv has this.
