Dun forget the return of 5yrs COE renewals in 2016, all are returning in 2021. There is high numbers of COE renewals in 2016.

Go LTA website and find out the numbers.

Actually looking at the figures, there are other years with higher numbers of COE renewals.

Let me know if I interpreted the data correctly:

In 2016, there were 97596 cars between 9 to 10 years old thus eligible to be renewed COE, and the number of cars being renewed is 28487. But we have no idea how many were renewed for 5 years or 10 years since the figure is not published.

But what we can see is that the figure for this group of cars kept dropping every year, and by 2020 dropped to 23391, then down to 18558 by May/2021. But as we do not know how many were 5yrs or 10yrs COE, thus cannot see the impact. We can see about 5000 cars had been scrapped this year under this 2016 cohort, but we do not know they were scrapped due to maturity of 5yrs COE or due to owners scrapping them as they want under 10 year COE term.

Looking at the car population database, actually more cars were renewed COE in 2017 and 2018. But then again, we do not know how many were renewed for 5 years thus cannot predict that many would be returned to the market eventually in years to come. But I would think more renewed their cars for 10 years term lah.

whats the price like bro?

Sorry no idea. Can go sgcarmart see what other PIs are charging and use it to negotiate. This PI is negotiable one, just be thick skin abit. No worry they not pushy and will not surround you the moment you step into the showroom or keep calling you to update prices haha. At least you can make more informed choice with physical car.

There are figures for renewed coe for 5 or 10years. In LTA statistics. The unknown is how many of the 5 or 10year cars have been prematurely scrapped. Considering that 2016 coe values were not that low. Off hand I remember it as approx 60k. So for sure some cars would have been scrapped in 2019 to buy new instead.

Went to check out on the new Vezel Petrol 1.5G variant. Noticed that the selling price quoted by ALL PIs are based on VES A2 (15k rebate). In the event the confirmed VES banding is out and it do drop to B, all the Petrol 1.5G variant will have an increase price of 15k, similar to what's being offered for their hybrid e:HEV X variant. Anyone has insider news of the VES banding for 1.5G variant? From what I see, if it do drop to VES B and with the price similar to the Hybrid variant, there will be no market for the petrol 1.5G. Any inputs?

haha....we shall see the car price updated from tomorrow onwards?

VES rebates remain same from 1 July onwards as the new rebates kicked in on 1 January already. It’s the VES surcharge that increases from tmr onwards.

Big, spacious, as big as harrier, a bit shorter only. Sound insulation good. Only down side is no digital cluster like Hybrid variant, 3/4 digital.

Yes, VES wont affect the petrol variant. Just tt they havent confirm the VES banding, currently they sell the price with 15k rebate (A2). It may have chance when the band drop to B, then the sell price will be 15k more. Hopefully it remains A2. Quite a few PI confident it will stick at A2 (15k rebate).

Bro, the more 'rebate' you get, the lower the actual value of your car.. you don't really 'get' that pseudo- rebate

So I'm fine if it's band B.. but I'm glad to know it's a nice car. Perhaps when it's time to replace my current ride in a few years time, this and the RAV4 or Yaris Cross are in my list...

But if it dropped to B, the sell price will up by 15k as well since now they sell as per A2 15k rebate.

Yes, its a nice ride. Quite impressive i will say.

anybody compare Vezel hybrid with Tuscon? 130k vs 150k?

is it a valid comparison?

test drive the Tuscon recently, very impress. all the necessary features are there

maybe wait for Kah motor test drive.

@Kopites I think a fairer comparison is the Vezel play spec where you get all the bells and whistles (e.g. sunroof) at 140k. And at that price point I rather go for a Tucson..
