This is a common lock, usually get this distance right will do, either 50mm, 60mm or 70mm. You can dismantle  the whole lock and bring it to a door lock hardware shop and compare it yourself. It wont take .ore than 2 or 3 screws to remove the whole lock.

Now I remember, the "L" is the backset dimension, in case you're wondering the meaning of the word. 😁

It determines how long the latch is. You can also buy separately the latch, depending on the length.

So you need to measure it first before buying.

Done.

Went to Selffix, they only have one brand, so I can't choose, just buy and fix 1st.

Use my NS Credit to pay for it.

Not home DIY but I had to buy this tools to get to a tiny T5 position light bulb in my car's headlight assembly. It was too far recessed in for my fingers and normal pliers.

Talk about bad design!

I have learnt to buy better quality lock sets. Those cheap ones can jam and it’s a pain in the arse to break it to get the door open.

What's the cost vs asking your mechanic to change for you? Lol

I think it's the material of the joint of the handle...think it's nickel. Probably too much repeated pulling and pushing causing crack to occur.😅 The original was German brand recommended by the ID when we selecting the door.

I think the new one also nickel 😅

I recently also changed a coolant return tube myself.

Luckily was oversea that week and not using car, order the part from Amazon.... If I go workshop also need to get tow truck.

Received it a week later then swopped it myself.

Many months ago I replaced the brake vacuum hose with a part bought from TB.

My mechanic couldn't even diagnose when I sent in for oil change.

Mine was bought from Amazon USA, was actually MIC, but I can't find it in TB.

Was SGD $40, compare to $75 quoted by workshop. Anyway I also don't have time to collect from workshop.

Cars nowadays don't encourage DIY.

Last time can replace sparkplugs or bulbs in 15 mins.

Now removing all the parts blocking the access already takes more than that!
