Hi all. Need some advice on on glass door hinge repair.

One of the plastic washer of my bi-fold kitchen glass door has worn out.

Anybody knows a shop that I can buy the hinge or the plastic washer?

It's the piece highlighted in yellow.

You will need to remove it and bring to hardware shop and find. Try the shops around Jalan Bersah where the food centre is.

Remove it carefully with help and bring the working washer to any hardware store to get new one since you’ll need to replace it anyway.

Alternatively, search online on store with mobile contact and enquire with this picture or the removed washer for availability…

You need to clear the waste trap below the sink hole:

Unscrew the bottom part that looks like a bullet. put a pail below when doing it. Be careful and mentally prepared probably will smell and look like shit.

Some the crap will drop out, use sharp disposable objects like wooden chopsticks to dig out the rest of the muck.

Oh my god... Been there,  done that.  🤢🤮.

So nothing to do on a Saturday. Try to repair this black patch on a calculator I was about to throw away.

Open up the casing and find the black patch

Peel off the silvery sticker

Clean up the remaining adhesive with isopropyl alcohol

Stick a new aluminum tape cut to size over the display

Now it's done. Defective silvery sticker on top, and aluminum tape I used for the repair.

The culprit was the backing silvery sticker. It breaks down and is no longer reflecting light. Thus you see the black patch. This kind of LCD depends on reflected light.

Thanks for this post [thumbsup]

I just "repaired" the screen of my printer. Cheap fix.

Wanted to also do for my Casio calculator. not so straightforward in this case. When I took it apart, the screen is glued to a glass. Saw on YT they used IPA to remove the adhesive. I Maybe try again later

I used the chrome sticker for the printer. For the calculator, I tried the grey sticker and its perfect !

Hmm guys.

I'm bringing over my kids ikea wardrobes cos I find them very usable still for my kids. But they paste stickers until eyesore.

IKEA don't think they sell the replacement doors.

If get this kinda wallpaper paste over, any tips?

Don't touch them...it's their childhood memory...let them decide what to do in due course.

My gal kinda got sentimental when she removed hers on walls, windows, doors...

I use those sticky type of plastic paper, sold locally (DIY shop), but I paste over walls which I frequently wet. It's unnecessary to replace doors, even if they are available.

But probably just keep them as it is for memories sake.

scrap off the stickers which is not difficult esp with a scrapper. it's the adhesive stains which is impossible to remove.

So then completely overlay with a thicker wrap type of material.

err nothing to be sentimental about.

They get to choose what color print gets pasted on again.
