haha actually it's more if I should wait for the car's birthday. Saw a few listings that are just few weeks away from the car's birthday. You've made a lot of good points there - I'm over-thinking it. I guess it's 'adventure' of getting a used car!

In short, used car prices are not proportional to useful coe life. There are many factors other than current coe price like condition of the car, mileage and accessories. But generally speaking, prices are similar say for a 6yr 11month and a 7yr car. No point u wait for 3 months thinking the price for the particular car will drop as it may not.

Hi iamcoda, used car dealers are still running a business at the end of the day so they will strive to make a profit based on the market. Currently at relatively low COE levels, i would recommend new cars for the warranty, peace of mind and a flatter depreciation.

Want everything all superb then must buy new car! Real truth by Tsuen Kor

Most of the things are quite true, but if you say headlight screws not 100% aligned means accident then its not fair, water seep in also need to take out to re-seal, then also considered accident? Doors open and close so many thousand times, of cos door hinges sometimes will go out of alignment abit, to me this is too picky. Body part acceptable. Interior part very true, the interior condition tells the story of the car life. The test drive part is ok and also quite true.

All in all the key to take away is, if the engine/gearbox and aircon is ok, then should be ok as long as the rest are acceptable. Sadly, consumers want a used car price worth but new car condition
