Skidding on PIE

Factors or combined factors that might contribute to skidding :

1) Speeding - entering the bend at high speed more than what the car can handle.

2) Braking during the corner - too late. should have slowed down BEFORE the bend, NOT during the bend. Stay constant speed while cornering.

3) Bad tyre - worn out, old and harden. budget tyre not suitable for high speed traction.

4) Bad wheel aligment - need to check regularly.

5) Road bend is at the apex - going at high speed towards the horizon? Can easily lose traction once the car hits the peak point.

6) Wet weather - road is most slippery when it drizzles than a heavy rain. Cos a water mix with oil on the road is damn slippery.

TLDR :  Just slow down before the bend.

And lousy drivers that jam brake in a turn.

All Hero's accelerate hard to overtake and then crash.

I never go reckless driving thread....

that video maker helped a lot.

You can always say speeding, wet conditions but if one stretch of road has more accidents than others, LTA really need to improve that stretch.

I use this road occasionally, and I do noticed that some cars tend to speed at the bend.

By right when approach speed should not speed la.

These Skidding, usually cause by Speeding & near Bald Tyres....

Coupled w kayu driver brake during cornering when he/she overcooked it instead of slow in fast out, car w/o traction control, etc

Many of us and hundreds of thousands hv driven that bend without crashing. Road fault or lousy driving?

Yeah, but many drivers go by left and get into trouble.

Years back, I also like to go fast on along this stretch

Now, as age catches up (both the car and me), I keep to speed limit and on 3rd or even 4th lane as I will take the next exit.

Do you step on the gas past the apex? I do that sometimes to improve traction.
