and gig jobs become no jobs with this sever recession.....

Gig job is already at jobless stage

With more people jobless, less gig volume to go around for giggers

Gig economy vs employed is like

pay per use and bringing the cow home

Like go Geylang and getting a maid at home.

Go Geylang once and eat frog leg porridge and pay only once.

Have a maid at home is pay every month.

Slowly, but surely.   COE is just propped up by dealers as it has been.  Properties movement very slow but by the time liquidity is squeezed, marginal investors will drop like zapped flies.

Let it be.  Let people learn their lesson. Learn Govts learn a lesson. Let us all learn a lesson.

With negative interest rate, you will be paying them to keep your money as well as to borrow your own money.

muayhahaha

But...but some people say it's worthwhile petitioning banks and MAS etc etc. who will surely rise to the rescue of the common folk, and when you express your skepticism in your usual inimitable style, some others come in and heap all kinds of abuse on you in their own inimitable style, for being ...ahem... a show-off. 😂😂😂

Yes, thats always been the case hasn’t it, old friend.

I dont disagree that one may get results petitioning for it, however thats certainly not my style. I also grew up understanding that no one is obliged to give you that helping hand and one only has himself to ensure his own security.

Just like in any sport i engage, i dont look for a disqualification of the opponent or a walkover to win, nor do i look for the medal or the trophy to tell me that i have won.

Now businesses realise WFH is possible and they can save on rental. If working remotely is possible, the next question is do you need someone to work remotely in Singapore or the same job can be performed by someone else at another country with lower wage. We have seen that in finance industry where they outsource certain jobs to offshore team. I agree with Carbon82, our issue is still primarily high overhead and high operating cost.

Yes, it's cheaper to outsource. It's also the reason why the gahmen better get their act together to protect the livelihood of Singaporeans and put real barriers on outsourcing remote jobs.

Singapore is a nation, not a big business and any time they forget, there's always the electorate to remind them of their duty. A few more GRCs to fall, a supermajority to topple, etc.

Why do we high pay. Cos costs are high.

How to delist these two? Not possible. Real impact will be end of year after JSS ends. Tourists will not suddenly come back by the millions and kickstart it.......

Judge a man by how he spends his time and money not what he says
