Eh.. It depends, if there is enough people that decide to not to put money with standard chartered Bank due to they hire whole bunch of Indian people that affect their revenue. Then they will hire more locals. So social media actually is a very power tool. It's even more powerful then what mas encourage or what and at the same time no need what discriminate law or what. It is the people who has the power to do things that make it happen.

You think too highly of Singaporeans.

We cannot even work together and unite to just pump 1 brand of petrol in order to force other petrol companies to drop price coz everyone got their own loyalty and bank card for discount. You want us to try that with banks? 😅

SC just offer slightly better interest rates for their FD or whatever, everyone will say screw it and go back to them.

SG United?....hahaha. More like SG Divided.

But really it is the people who will make it happen, not government. As when government put up laws, regulations and etc.. It make business doing more difficult and may backfire. So it is the people. So how to unite people? I mean unite in a good way like help out one another. Think should start young through education and also have a good role model from teachers, to vp to principal. Parents also need to be a good role model too.

Yes, MOM should breakdown the Singaporeans and PR numbers. More transparency can't hurt but the 3/4 local numbers cited may drop.

Ceca is a mistake that pap knew but refused to acknowledge cos, hey, they projected themselves as the best, the best dont make any mistakes.

What they can do know is to use their control over media to try and cover up or, damage control.

In my one man's opinion, One key thing that they miscalculated is the effect of ceca for the man on the street.  You can label xenophobic or what's not. But the daily effect is real and citizens can feel, see the effect of ceca in their daily lives.

From the treatment the average Joe gets at his work place to the treatment they get when dealing with foreigners are real.

Personally,  if this carry on, no matter how much monies they throw at citizens, come 2025, they will still vote base on what the citizens see on the ground and not on newspaper

BTW, my troll fb account was banned on shit times for speaking out on ceca.....one thing, shit times forget,  trolls multiple 😂😂😂

Ramesh is the straw that broke the camel’s back. His arrogant attitude and how he treated a security guard who’s a local Singaporean.

Here’s another ST article. Some people do need to be voted out before they speak up for Singaporeans.

Thousands matched with new work roles by NTUC job council

COMPETITION FOR JOBS

Mr Ng also noted that the overall level of anxiety among Singaporeans over foreigners working here has heightened, and suggested that Employment Pass policies may need to be tightened.

He said at the macro level, building Singapore's economy is for Singaporeans' interests, and foreigners are needed in numbers as well as in talent or skills to augment the local workforce to expand the economy.

But when there is intense competition for jobs at certain levels, the Government should put in policies for Singaporeans to have fair access to good jobs, he said.
