What " no free education"?

Serving a well paid bond is free education in all but name. That's what many people would want.

And those students can also default anytime.

http://theindependent.sg/govt-used-to-spend-around-s476-million-on-foreign-students-says-wp-politician/

Also.. it's clear that $238 million is a misleading figure. Playing numbers.

At the end,  telling singaporeans no need to have degrees while actively funding foreigners to $billions is revolting. And that's not including fake degrees flood.

Think these students that defaulted their loans might already been barred from entering or work in Singapore anymore, Singapore will not issue work pass to these people no matter what already. Then the article also state significantly number of them pay higher fees as compare to locals. So majority of them do pay school fees and in fact is higher then locals. That's what i interpretate it..

Already can see it in GE2015. That GE opposition all seems to have high morale and hope, then come the final results, so disappointing. So like i said before, i have not much high hope in the voters in this GE, no matter how good the opposition is.

That is why pritam Singh said there is possibility of total wipe out this GE and ask us to vote wisely..

Ownself check Ownself must come to an end.

Any Leader knows that a diversity of views is better and important although more difficult to manage.

And true Leaders do the right thing, not the easy thing.

Afraid that the other parties may form a coalition government?  Where is the iron in such people to fight the fair fight instead of subtly holding the weaker for ransom?

Kinda sia suey leh.   Maybe becos when one sia suey so many times, numb already?   Hhhhhmmm....

Something light before MCFers here are been accused of group thinking...

I bet many will be thinking of Nicole Seah doing that. :D

PM Abe’s face masks worn as bra by Tokyo assembly member candidate

Bro, they are happy with a group thinking govt but they are not ok with group think in forum when their view is different from said group.

I won't worry about these people if I were you. It's election season and they need to work....

Okay the latest pritum Singh is one example..

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/pritam-singh-wp-pap-tan-wu-meng-shanmugam-alfian-saat-12856550

This one is pritum Singh mistake.. Then remember after that he said no one is perfect, then what did law minister said to him?

Then the latest psp and rp at née soon grc incident.. Law minister saying psp is half hearted? Like psp and rp already replied back.. Law minister should focus more on national issues instead of keep barking at them.

Then Ivan lim is a good example.. So go and grill Ivan lim la.. Forget he cannot grill Ivan lim due to same party. So this shows what? Want to grill other people please look at own backyard 1st.. No one is perfect.

My two cents.

I thought Shanmugan comments about Tan Wu meng's post is fair. I do agree that his repeated comments on this is pretty unwarranted. This is not that big a deal. Fair enough, our law minister really should not keep talking about this.

"PSP is half hearted" comment. I thought this is a pretty valid comment, especially in the elections. The election IS a NATIONAL issue. He being a heavy weight minister needs to weigh in and help his party as much as possible. I really think his comment is perfectly valid and important for the public to know. If PSP was just a week ago, thinking of trading nee soon GRC away, the voters should know.

As for Ivan lim, lets all be realistic. I don't think you also expect him to grill Ivan Lim now right?

Just like most countries... Only those who are"unhappy" will come out and raise a ruckus.

Those who are satisfied with their lives will just continue to live their lives quietly and show their opinions when it really matters.

So this is the time to show our opinions when it really matters.

GE2020. Make your votes count!

I do agree that printing all these media is a waste of time and money.... But it only helps the printers and their affiliates.

I never read all these newsletters that they stuff into our mailboxes, not because of difference of opinion, but I am simply not interested.

I only look at leaflets when it's about a sale or offer.

If I wanted to know something about my constituency,  I will ask my best friend.

Funding from many companies marked "donation" in their account. Payable to "pap.......... Branch".

Study loan I know need to pay. Bond I am not so sure. Someone can enlighten me. Also serving of bond they will be pay a salary package right?

My guess the 238m covered  the fee to institutions/landlord/expendiures/ etc

There are two different financial scheme in our university:

a) tuition grant, aka discounted tuition fee. All citizens will automatically get  ~70% discount without needing to apply.  PR and international students will get ~60% and ~40% discount, respectively, if they agree to work in Singapore for 3 yrs upon graduation. Employment is not guaranteed and they have to seek the employment by themselves as the others. During the downturn, I know many of them cannot secure any job in Sg and have to seek a waiver from MOE to return to their home country for employment.

2) Scholarship. This one covers tuition fees and some living allowance. offers to both citizens and international students.

Saw on comments with video.. Looks like pap volunteers also going out to take down posters.. If that's the case.. Then it's fair and square.. That should be the way, should be fair for all..

I love my family with all my heart and would even die for them.

but would any single family member get a blank check?

No !

Why?

Becos the money of the family (despite being directly contributed solely by me) belongs to the family.

Nobody including myself gets a blank check.

No to......Ownself check Ownself

I would opine that the hard-core supporters of pap are about 45% of the electorate. I derive that from the 2011 election results when pap was at their lowest points with multiple screws up, and yet, they still have 45% of popular votes in Aljunied.

Oppo hard-core supporters are about 20.7% (that's the % of Singaporeans First votes in GE 2015 at Jurong GRC).

As you can see clearly, 45% is more than 2 times 20%. Oppo is screwed.

I am not rich wealthy like you.

I give my family a blank cheque none of them will take heed as they know my saving(current) near zero. 😄

At the same time I won't give them credit card to spend future money as well. I am the one paying and they will live with huge financial liability once I am gone.

We know who is up for a tougher fight, bro.

But i never believe in the notion of hardcore supporters.

Why?

Becos, Everyone has to die. And in 4-5yrs, the landscape of voters changes.

😄

No to Ownself check Ownself ! 💪
