Yamapi 6th Gear March 28, 2022 Share March 28, 2022 Can 225/45/17 tyres be fitted on 17x7 rim?
Mkl22 Supersonic March 28, 2022 Share March 28, 2022 31 minutes ago, Yamapi said: Can 225/45/17 tyres be fitted on 17x7 rim? All tire manufacturers say Yes. But a looks a tad bloated. Best is still 7.5”. but depends on brand and model. And No, not all 225/45/17 have the exact same dimensions. The only dimension that is fixed is the 17”.

Hamburger Hypersonic March 28, 2022 Share March 28, 2022 My present tyre is 235/50/19 andv75% worn. Its more rare than my previous 55 series. It's a Hankook S1evo 2 and frankly, I am surprised by how quiet and the grip it offers.
Raubern 6th Gear March 28, 2022 Share March 28, 2022 3 hours ago, Yamapi said: Can 225/45/17 tyres be fitted on 17x7 rim? Can. Some cars become factory fitted with 17x7 rim and 225/45/17 tyres, such as Hyundai Avante CN7 and VW Golf. But i think 225 is the max for a 7J rim

Vratenza Supersonic May 21, 2022 Share May 21, 2022 Bridgestone Potenza S005 (OEM)... Currently 13k....look like still some way to go before hitting the treadwear indicator bar. But seem like the shallow thin grooves will be gone before that happen. Amy opinion?

Long time no see...any latest diy mod...? Maybe can dismount the wheel n use pen knife to deepen the groove lines to tahan a little longer...😁 JK...anti aquaplaning ability may be undermined when they are gone...I'd change to new tyres once that's gone even if the indicator bar still have some beef left though or go real easy in the wet.

Recent car DIY mods restricted to minor cosmetic ones since I am pretty much happy with the current car's mechanics/performance.😄 I just found out what those narrow thin groove lines are called...sipes Apparently some manufacturer depending on models, their sipes can be the same depth as the tread wear indicator....
