Liddat say macam rest of the world legally sells vaping products like candies. Sigh... :a-no:

"Vapes in Australia can now be bought only at pharmacies as part of a world-first crackdown that came into effect on July 1 and includes a ban on most flavours."

The number of people vaping in Melbourne cbd outside bars on a Friday is pretty shocking. I would venture that back in 2019 I don't see that many people having a smoke outside the bar.

They have a pretty significant cocaine problem in the big cities as well.

Lots of Aussie had to quit smoking cigarettes due to the crazy pricing of AUD 68 for a pack of 25s …. Vape so much cheaper and hence most of the ex cigarette smokers vape instead …

I see. Didn't know their tax so hiong.

Problem with vaping is low barrier to entry now. Objectively if u ask any non smoker, that's the no. 1 turnoff.

So now that not much smell, teens and adults will say "hit me up with nicotine".

Literally in any crowd in Australia now, you see people taking a hit of their Vapes.

With vaping, the efforts by govts to get smokers to quit is going down the drain.
the chemicals in vapes are even more harmful i believe.

There's a long lag time to lung cancer being detected. So no real studies yet on cancer risk for vaping, vis a vis cig smoking. COPD risk is also not really known yet.

Got risk of serious lung problems caused by vaping, which won't really happen with conventional cigarette smoking, due to the aerosol nature and irritant chemicals (maybe poorly regulated).

Also the risk of greatly increasing nicotine exposure due to the increased quantity, now that the noxious smoke element is mostly gone.

Overseas, lot of europeans in particular, use nicotine gum also. It's another hidden drug issue that is less featured. Was watching some football documentary that said that a lot of football pros use it to control their stress/anxiety.
So widespread nicotine addiction is pretty much on the cards, now that it's less and less linked to one habit which everyone deems as unhealthy.

Maybe reduce one problem THEORETICALLY, but create many more problems  😄
